Allmenningen Apartments

We loved the apartment, so pretty, clean, comfortable; and also warm. Hot water was excellent, location is great. Host was awesome.

The stairs are a bit tight and steep but this is understandable; very proper style of old buildings. The main entrance/access to the building is cold and feels dirty. The bag storage is in the basement which, we didn’t use because our bags were heavy and the stairs looked so steep and tight that we just decided not to go for it and carried our luggage around until it was time to check in instead. It’s be nice if they could accommodate some lockers by the main entrance or/and outside every apartment. Something more convenient. Also, because I have a strong sense of smell, one night I could smell the hot oil coming from the restaurant below but it didn’t get “crazy” intolerable. It woke me up and was uncomfortable a bit.

Location excellent

Would have been nice to have the beds made up on arrival especially if you arrive late and are tied from travelling.

Superb location - right at the foot of the funicular to Mt Floyen - and close to excellent restaurants and old Bryggen - very homely feel, cosy and comfortable

We loved everything - some very minor details would have helped us but these were by no means dealbreakers - some tissues in the apartment, beds made upon arrival, and a doormat at the front door to prevent mess when removing winter boots.
