Garden beautiful… host ( might have just been not her best weekend ). I rented out all the quests houses in Darling road that weekend for wedding quests. I recommend Lucky Crane in same street … their host is exceptional!!

Just felt more” welcome “ at the other properties I rented that weekend. Beautiful property and garden!!! Not allowed to braai ‘ with wood only charcoal-which is 100% understandable with the thatched roof.

I don’t think the photographs did this beautiful space justice. It’s really stunning, wonderful views over the town of McGregor. The outside showers linked to the indoor showers were magical. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook delicious meals. We enjoyed the fireplace and comfortable beds as our visit was during winter. The gardens are absolutely stunning as well. Close enough for a walk into town for breakfast/lunch/dinner.

"Exceptional"

We loved our 3-day stay at Calcedony House in McGregor. The view over the town is simply beautiful, especially early in the morning with the church tower punching through the lingering mist. The garden is lush and tranquil, framing the house perfectly. Though the pool looked inviting, it was just a bit too chilly for a dip. The house layout suited our group of five adults perfectly—spacious yet cosy. We spent peaceful evenings playing cards by the fireplace, soaking up the calm and warmth. Highly recommended.

Such a beautiful cottage, furnished with great taste. We really appreciate the pretty cards on the beds, the fresh flowers on the table and the milk in the fridge. Very good quality linen , towels and amenities. We loved the outside showers. Lovely gardens and swimming pool.
