USCame here as a solo traveler and the location is incredible! I couldn't believe where this beautiful cabin is located. The best part and the best scenery of my trip. The cabin is pristine and clean. They have a lovely (expensive - 550kr) dinner at night that is the only option. They worked around my allergies and dietary restrictions. Breakfast was wonderful and included! The cabins and rooms are clean and roomy and have wonderful views
Water turned freezing cold quite early ~ 8pm at night. There is no clear description that there is limited cabin water supply. It was difficult to shower after the hike. Dinner is incredibly expensive - 550kr and really small portions. Especially in an area where most hike. Not description discussed this. There is no shared kitchen to use, so you can't cook. They have very limited options for food and it is not a restaurant with various options. Just 1-2, and it can be tough if you don't eat meat. I basically went hungry for lunch, until dinner. The nearest market is 15 minutes down the road (small) so bring your OWN FOOD! Sheets are seperate 100 NOK, on top of reservation and pricey dinner. Front desk girl was quite rude, but the rest of the staff were incredibly nice and friendly.

DEAbsolut perfect location and host. We had a nice walk to the glacier and after a perfect dinner. We can recommend it to everyone to make this nice experience.
USTungestolen is amazing! Jorn is a gracious host with mad cooking skills! Our family was thrilled with our stay here. Complimentary breakfast was plentiful and delicious. We paid extra for dinner both nights and it was well worth it. The views everywhere are incredible, the facilities very clean. When we weren't hiking, we relaxed in the main building with endless coffee, tea, and serenity.
As an "older" person, it was a bit inconvenient to make those "middle-of-the-night pit stops" as you have to walk over to the restroom/shower building. However, I would (and will) stay here again as that is a minor disadvantage compared with the experience of staying at Tungestolen.
DEIt‘s been really a dream, really nice and caring hosts, amazing location and facilities! We wish we could have stayed longer in this beautiful place!
