Good parking area, nice country location

Could not shower in morning no hot water in shower just a little trickle of freezing water. From reading reviews this is not a one off either.. My wife showered night before had hot water, but most of it just poured from top of shower head instead of through shower head. Toilet did not flush properly, looks like it flushes but put any tissue in it, no chance of that going anywhere! All night sound of gurgatating water sloshing about behind walls, again many reviews mention this problem. Dined in restaurant food average, but what is poor, is allowing group of 4 men to sit in restaurant at a table playing cards, cursing and swearing the ol time at top of there voice, was family’s in restaurant too with little kids that’s really not appropriate, someone mentioned it to waitress and her reply that’s ok they are regulars and brilliant!! Could here the noisy card players upstairs whilst in our room! Cobwebs beside bed. All these things should be checked and not be happening, we told lady at checkout all the faults, she said let me see if we can give you back A little bit from the £125 per night cost, told her not to bother put it towards the many faults with the room, these have not happened over night and should not be happening at all.

The Carpenters arms is a country pud with rooms and good food, the decor and ambiance are lovely. Staff were friendly and polite especially the bar staff serving food in the evening, breakfast was delicious and well presented and all round good value for money.

The only drawback was the noisy water tank adjacent to my room which sounded like it had someone sloshing about in it all night

The room was very clean, although a bit on the small side. The pub food was good too.

My room was facing the back and was very hot. The radiators were cool, but for some reason the room was steaming. Furthermore, at 10:30pm they were hoovering leaves! This noise made it difficult to try to sleep. We couldn’t sleep because of the heat so overall it wasn’t pleasant to stay there.

Met by a warm welcome on arrival and shown to room. The room was spacious and well equipped. Comfy bed and good pillows. Evening meal and breakfast was excellent and a good menu to choose from too.

No water pressure on my night of arrival so couldn't have a shower, however pressure returned the following morning so all good in the end.

Sur la carte du petit déjeuner, il y a des pâtisseries. Nous avons alors commandé un croissant et un pain aux raisins pour chacun. La serveuse revient pour nous dire qu'il n'y a plus qu'un croissant et un pain au chocolat pour les deux alors que nous nous sommes présentés en tout début du créneau horaire pour le petit déjeuner. Le toaster n'était pas branché à l'électricité. C'est un client qui a dû nous aider pour le brancher. Par ailleurs, il ne fonctionnait pas bien. Il n'y avait qu'un pain de qualité médiocre à faire toaster et pas de white toast ou brown toast comme dans tous les hôtels britanniques. L'œuf poché m'a été servi dans une sous-tasse… Au premier matin, j'ai également signalé que la chasse d'eau des toilettes de ma chambre fuyait et que l'évacuation d'eau de la douche et des toilettes ne fonctionnait pas correctement. Le lendemain au checkout, la même personne me dit qu'ils n'ont pas trouvé le problème de la chasse d'eau alors qu'il suffisait de soulever le couvercle des toilettes pour voir l'eau s'écouler constamment. La chasse d'eau se remplissait environ toutes les 30 à 90 secondes. Par ailleurs, le robinet de la salle de bain était couvert de traces de calcaire, sur un des fauteuils collait un faux cil d'une cliente précédente...

The duvet was hot, so I took it out of its cover. The door was locked when I came down, so I went out the fire escape.
