This was our 4th stay at Caracol, and it’s always great. Fantastic property for those with kids when on the island. We’ll be back!

The little sweets in the evening were a lovely touch. Furthermore, the complimentary sundowner drink was a nice gesture.

This hotel is simply too expensive for what you get—$500 per night is just not justified. For breakfast, only basic black coffee is included, and you're charged extra for a cappuccino, which feels unreasonable at this price point. The sunbeds on the beach are packed extremely close together—less than a meter apart—offering no real sense of privacy. The photos on Booking.com are quite misleading. While they look amazing online, the reality was disappointing. The pool area, for example, is much smaller than expected. Our suite didn’t have an ocean view (perhaps our mistake), but instead faced an unattractive backyard and a noisy street with loud taxis at night. There was no toilet brush or hair dryer in the room, which was surprising. Worse, our room was left open and unattended for a significant amount of time. The housekeeping staff cleaned several rooms at once and left all the doors wide open. We were shocked when we realized this, especially since some of our valuables like laptops didn’t fit in the safe. We also had an uncomfortable experience with a staff member who rudely asked why we didn’t leave a tip—even though we had tipped throughout our stay, just not after every single meal. Overall, I truly don’t understand all the glowing reviews here. The hotel might look good in pictures, but it didn’t live up to expectations—and certainly not for the price.

It’s a very intimate hotel beautifully appointed. The restaurant is excellent, the location is perfect and there are plenty of amenities. The guest to staff ratio makes you feel always well attended.

I wish the restaurant had more vegetarian options for lunch and dinner.

Absolutely gorgeous comfortable and guest-friendly! Restaurant is among the top eateries on the island and the peace and quiet are superb.

There is nothing not to love about this hotel Holbox is one of the last places in Yucatán / Quintana Roo that hasn’t become Gringolandia 🩷

Loved! My favorite dishes were the enchiladas and the French toast.
