The Granary, Bryncarnedd cottages

Cottage was comfortable and a good standard. New sofa and TV make an excellent addition to the cottage. And the hosts were quick to respond to any queries and provide suggestions of activities (it was in the middle of a storm so had to rethink what we had planned).

Location on booking.com is wrong. Took us ages to find the cottage, it was 1.3 miles away, a 30 minute walk away from where I had thought I had booked. Very frustrating as off a 60 mile road with no paths so was unable to walk anywhere with the kids and needed to use the car every day. I had thought I had booked somewhere in town so could walk everywhere. I plan carefully the location and this was more expensive than some closer and if I had known it's true location I would not have booked it, and this is the main reason for the low rating. Missing some basic items which would have made the stay easier, e.g. oven gloves, a dishwasher tablet and/or dish cloth/sponge. No food or supplies (e.g. olive oil/sugar) at the cottage which is a shame but some cottages do this and we checked prior to food shipping so not a problem. Didn't think to check for dishcloth or oven gloves as this is the first time we have stayed somewhere that did not provide basic safety/cleaning supplies.

Good size, well equipped and comfortable.

All the external doors were difficult to open/close. The upstairs was infested with clothes moths, in the bedrooms and bathrooms. The fridge freezer was very noisy.

lovely location , photos don’t do no5 cottage any justice so much nicer In person , lovely comfy bed, rooms have on suites - pitty the jacuzzi bath wasn’t working but still lovely.

Was hard to find in the dark would be helpful for the host to explain in welcome Email maybe? Also booking said 11pm check out but host on welcome email said 10am and when I questioned this I had no response.

Keys were left in the door waiting for our arrival so very easy entry! The beds were comfortable and the unit was warm. It was really great to have two bathrooms. Although not directly in Aberystwyth, the location just outside town was a very easy drive away. The unit decor was quirky but sufficient

It was hard to find initially - the property has multiple parts to it and the name on the road signs and Google Maps differed from what is in the Booking.com details. it would be good if it said "Aber Holiday Cottages - The Granary" and something to say that The Granary is one of many cottages in this property. We didn't have any instructions on how to find the unit so we just followed our noses! The power sockets in the unit didn't all work. We didn't have any instructions for the unit so just had to figure it all out ourselves. We also weren't sure what to do on our exit so just left the keys where we found them.

The cottage had everything we needed - all very convenient and would definitely stay there again when in Aberystwyth.

Screen sharing to tv was very difficult and in the end watched film on laptop. WiFi slightly slow and not great. Light in main bedroom’s bathroom was slightly temperamental and took a long time to light.
