"A short but sweet stay in Biassa!"

10.0

We loved our warm welcome and patient detailed explanations of how to make the most of our time. The location is so nice- a small village with a quiet ambience. We would love to come back!

"Beautiful Village. Enjoyed our stay!"

8.0

Super clean room! Andrea was a nice and helpful host and Gloria from the local tobacco/coffee shop was also tremendously helpful. The village and community were friendly, quiet and quaint - very peaceful. It was a different and wonderful experience to actually stay in a local village community. You could hike (2.5 hours or so) to Cinque Terre if desired and take a bus (on days available) to La Spezia Centrale. We enjoyed both of the restaurants in the Bissa Village (Italian Restaurant, Locanda del Gallese and the Pizzeria). Both were delicious! We already want to go back to the Locanda del Gallese and we would definitely enjoy visiting Biassa and staying at Pietra Di Mare again. The bakery and the local shop with cheese, meat and wine are also incredible.

Tourists need to be aware that Biassa is truly a village in the mountains. There are taxis from the train station/La Spezia that will take you up and drop you off but they do not come up the mountain for pick up to go back down. That means that if you do not have a car, you need to plan properly for transportation. We stayed a Friday and Saturday night and were able to take a bus down Saturday to get to La Spezia and then take the train from there to Cinque Terre. But on Sunday, there are no buses from Biassa to La Spezia and taxis won't or aren't available to come up or very costly (we were told, as we never found a taxi to come up at all). We had to take a bus to Cinque Terre (Riomaggiore, which we had no plans to go to on Sunday) and figure out a way to get to the La Spezia train station. Be prepared that the only transportation down the mountain on Sunday is a 10am bus to Cinque Terre (Riomaggiore) and that is it! Normally there are trains from Riomaggiore to La Spezia but it so happened that Sunday there was also a train employee strike so that made things very complicated. That situation, of course, is not the fault of Pietra Di Mare - you just need to be aware, as a tourist, that this is a more quiet and secluded village so transportation needs to be planned accordingly. Your luggage also needs to be planned accordingly as the bus is not very big.

"Loved our stay"

10.0

We liked our Stay at Pietra Di Mare. Andrea was really friendly. The rooms and the bathrooms were clean. The Terrace has a nive View but mostly you hear the local Italian life all around. It's a bit Walking up the Hill but it's really worth it. Great Focaccia in town ;)

If you have issues Walking start. It might not be so easy.
