Hostel la Antigua Capsula

Amazing location in Getsemani, safe location 5 minutes from Trinidad Plaza and 10 from the walled city. Daily cleaning, Friendly, accomodating staff and delicious generous breakfast.

We booked the room with private bathroom and as they advertise, it is tiny (as In can't really turn around in the shower tiny). So I would say use the shared bathroom downstairs instead and save the money.

Bring cash if paying for your rooms, as if you pay by card everything has a 5% charge. I think this is Cartagena in general as a few places were doing this, would have been nice to know upfront as this wasn’t the case in Bogotá/salento/Medellin. Also paid for washing and they somehow lost three of our socks. Bit frustrating as they are £5 a pair due the brand. So turned out to be a expensive wash for me 30k cop plus £15 to buy new socks when I got home 😩

Shabby,cobbled together accommodations with no noise controls.Windowless boxy rooms.Other rooms seem to be on top of each other up vertical ladders.Noise through floors and walls.Zero choice of breakfast and bad coffee.All floors in room covered with patches of astroturf rather than the tiles underneath so never felt clean to put your feet on.Nylon sheets on begs.Cracked tiles and felt like a cave as just a plasterboard shell.

The staff is nice and the breakfast is good. It’s also a quiet hostel so if you’re looking to catch some sleep it’s perfect for that.

The facilities are lacking. I booked a private room with a bathroom and it didn’t have a sink. There was also false advertising that the bed I booked was a queen when it was a full. This isn’t ideal for 2 people.

Good for a place to sleep for a night for the price, room very basic but staff very friendly and helpful.

Not very big, and so when you’re not in your room spaces to hide from the sun are lacking and it was very warm.
