IEGBGBGBGBWe booked a family room for 2 adults and 2 kids, We arrived at 4pm and was given the key to our room, we went straight up to find the beds had not been changed or made, there was 4 bags of rubbish lying around in the room, there was not one light in the room apart from the bathroom so we had to use our flash light on our phone, went down to reception to tell them and the man came up to see for himself and he was also shocked and went on to tell us there are struggling with linen but that dont excuse the mess or no light, he said sorry and went on to say all he could do was give up a refund as there was no other rooms to stay in so we had no choice to leave and go find somewhere else. Very dissapointing

GBSame price as shared hostel rooms in the area but private, which is what I was after. Shampoo, shower gel, soap, nice clean folded towels, loads of instsnt coffee/tea all provided. Bed was made nicely even if only 1 pillow. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room had extremely high ceilings but was still super toasty and warm even with 0ยฐ temperatures outside. If you're looking for somewhere to stay for the night and you're on a budget then I'd say this is perfectly adequate. It's obvious who ever the housekeeper is, is doing the absolute best they can with what they've got- walls, doors and bathrooms are outdated and needing paint but the actual things you sleep in and touch are all very good standard.
Walls could do with a deep clean and a paint, there was some glittery handprints near the bed which I expected really as I know what the area is like lol, but the sheets were clean so ๐คทโโ๏ธ Boiled the kettle a good few times before using it as the inside didn't look like it would make me ill but didn't look super. Bathroom was more where it was a letdown, not for the price as ยฃ30 a night is more than fine for what I got, but there's shampoo/handsoap holders still with the old empty bottles left in them which wouldn't take much effort to get rid of. My shower was also absolutely freezing cold but I blame that on leaving it till 10am when I presume most people will have showered and used up the hot water, this was fine really as the room was so warm. The lock on my door made me question if it would actually stop anyone from entering should they want to, as the door itself had nice gaps all the way round. It's just a shame as a few inexpensive and easy things could make the room 200x better. A new lock, a coat of paint, remove the sh*tty shower things. I presume most people use this place for a few hours rather than as a place to stay though. I'd still say it's fine though. If you're travelling cheap or just need somewhere to stay it's safe, clean, and comfortable enough. Better than a shared hostel in my opinion.
