Trucountry Inn

The historical hotel has an attractive entry with antiques and a bar and a pretty red carpeted staircase. My room was the Wild Bill and Calamity Jane suite. The manager gave me a tour of the hotel and some of the other rooms may be better, but mine had an old sofa which was falling apart and smelled of mold and dog. There is a difference between antique and rundown, and I felt they had preserved too many old broken things. The sink in the bedroom had running water but no plug for the drain and looked nasty. The window air conditioner worked well but a noisy fan was needed to blow the air around from the bedroom to the sitting room kitchenette area. The TV worked as did the microwave once I figured out how to plug it in. The bed was ok. All in all you get what you pay for and the price was right.

It’s a great place with tons of character and friendly folks, conveniently located at the courthouse square.

The whole hotel is Unique! My room didn’t have a bathroom but I had a private one across the hall. I was just staying the night but this is my second time staying and I’ll for sure book there again when I’m in town!

Excellent affordable space to rest your head! Huge shoutout to running double duty over at the coffee shop and serving AMAZING breakfast!

It had a lot of character, being a 100 year old hotel! Great staff, clean room, great stay!

This is a cool old hotel! Why stay in a boring chain hotel with no soul when a place like this exists for less money! There’s a full service bar in the lobby too with good “bar food”. We stayed in the George Strait suite and it was great. I highly recommend this place.

This hotel is very historic and very beautiful. I feel like the place is mainly used as a bar. When I went to check in I couldn’t find parking because the bar was so packed. The check in is also at the bar and the girl had to get someone else to come down to check me in. I stood there for a good while waiting but the guy was really nice and he even upgraded my room for free for me.
