Saprin Beach Resort

Its a beautiful hotel, clean rooms, nice pool, good food, nice atmosphere and excellent service. The service at Saprin is something extra. The manager Bernard, and the hotel team, helped us with everything we needed, both during and after our visit.

This is a lovely hotel, very modern with welcoming staff. It is much nicer than your average ‘close to the airport, the hotel. We could have happily stayed several nights. We were late for breakfast and the lovely staff accommodated this without a murmur and gave us fruit, omelette, coffee and toast - perfect. The room was a good size, very nice bathroom and comfy bed. The swimming pool is superb and appeared spotless.

It’s really worth booking a sea view room. We arrived late and only rooms facing the busy road were still available. This meant quite a lot of traffic noise but we got it for a bargain price so really could not complain.

the swimming pool was perfect ! it was our last days and it was really relaxing and close to the airport. the dinner was delouses. good fish!

Sanju at the reception was incredible: happy to help, smiling and accommodating. The property is secured 24/7, the gate to the beach is locked (which is important for a solo female traveller).

There is not even 1 hairdryer in the whole hotel!

Very friendly staff

But unfortunately we have to be critical in this review. We stayed 4 days in this hotel and everyday there were local people (ab)using the pool with loud music, a lot of alcohol and even vomiting. There is a beach, but not safe to swim.

The staff were all so friendly and couldn't do enough to help. Marcos and Bernard went out of their way with advice on any subject. Pool area is lovely. Had a meal there on our last night and Bernard set us a table in the garden , wonderful as was the food, would definitely recommend. Only drawback is the distance from colombo city centre although 40 minutes away was only £4 when you could book a taxi with pickme. On the occasions when a taxi wasn't available Bernard got us a tuk tuk in minutes which was a nice experience in itself. Thanks to all the staff at Saprin Beach for making our first stop in Sri Lanka lovely.

Great room and very friendly helpful staff. Lovely clean swimming pool.

Restaurant was strangely deserted and lacking in atmosphere. Seems guests more likely to eat in their rooms. Some of the food was lovely but not all to our taste. Location was great for us because we needed somewhere near Colombo at short notice but beach too rocky for swimming
