ROOST East Market

Fantastic place. Will stay there again. We loved everything about it. The hospitality staff is top-notch, the rooms are spacious, the location is perfect, and the amenities are wonderful. Highly recommend.

Didn't have breakfast but the location was excellent since we could walk anywhere we needed to go.

The fire alarm went off which was extremely loud and didn't stop for 15 minutes.

Location is great, room is big, kitchen is well equipped

Asked for an extra blanket several times, took 3 days to get one

The rooms are comfortable and very clean! The couch in the common area is amazing, I had to find the manufacturer because I have to have one!

I liked the complimentary coffee, the Christmas party, and having a kitchen and a washing machine in our room.

I was surprised by the $250 refundable deposit. But the deposit was returned immediately after we checked out.

This is the third year in a row I have stayed at ROOST East Market during an annual business trip to Philadelphia. If I return next year, I will stay here again. The location is excellent, within walking distance to everything I needed. The front desk staff were unfailingly helpful, cheerful, and professional. I stayed in a one-bedroom unit. This is so vastly preferable to a standard hotel room, with its added space, a separate sitting area, kitchen, laundry facilities, etc. My only slight criticism is that there wasn't really a proper work surface in my unit. I ended up setting up my laptop at the kitchen counter. This worked fine--it's certainly not a reason to stay at a different place--but a desk or work table of some kind would have been nice. A note about parking. ROOST itself does not provide parking. There is a city lot located conveniently under the block, but it is very expensive. The charge is based on the number of hours and peaks at $49/day, but if you are staying for a few days, this can get pricey. I have used the parking each time I have stayed here, but the cost is something to be aware of. For dropping off and loading suitcases, the valets at the building across the street have always been very nice about letting me stop in front of the building for a few minutes with no hassle at all. Overall, ROOST East Market is an excellent choice if work or play brings you to downtown Philadelphia. It's my go-to accommodation, and I don't expect that will change.
