Bacalar 102 Hotel

They only have the “Caribbean breakfast” which is two slices of fruit. One melon and one papaya. Or cereal which they run out. Coffee or juice which are disgusting. They need to improve a lot. The price was expensive for what they offer.

The accommodation was good. So was the pool, neat and blue. 1. But we realized in end of the day that the door, in spite of being locked inside/outside with just a push it could be opened. They could not fix it even over the next. day. 2. The front office reception staff both were courteous. However the breakfast service person/cook was totally unwelcoming. a. We went for coffee at 7.50am and he made some noise about giving us coffee. I did not mind paying for it. But sounded real complaining in spanish. b. We were 3 of us. during bfast, We just chose coffee and bread. He have us 1 slice each. We request for one more slice..and he made a lot of noise in spanish with the reception staff for just one more slice. Ultimately ...we waited and he never bothered to give us. Simply disappointing .

Good hotel.

Frst day they ran out of coffe, second day it took them over an hour to serve me chilaquiles and i was the only customer sitting there for the first half hour, after that a couple arrived and they served them first, they were heating my chilaquiles on the microwave for over 15 minutes and when they arrived oh! Surprise! There was plastic all over the food, melted with the cheese. The hotel is ok, but eat somewhere else, they give you fruit or cereal for free but if you order additional food it is terrible and expensive for what they serve.

I gave two stars instead of one because we were happy we could stay here for one night with a super late arrival. But this place is so new there is nothing around. Its more like a motel... breakfast is horrible: toast and butter and jam. COME ON! The rooms are really small and pretend to be in Scandinavia but it’s really not working. Stay closer to town or the Laguna; as we did the other nights we were in Bacalar. It’s better and cheaper.

This might seem as a harsh review, but this is as honest and objective as can be. On pictures this place looks lovely, but that’s not case. The rooms are incredibly small, absolutely no space for 2 people. I have not even seen rooms in the center of Amsterdam or London this small. This is my 9th hotel travelling through mexico and I am already used to the fact that the Mexican hotels cannot be compared with the European standard, but this is bad even for Mexican standards. Drywall walls, so you can hear every word the neighbours are saying from rooms left, right and above, you can even hear them going to the toilet. No storage space, sink is in the bedroom, a big window with a fully light-transmitting curtain, so you are wide awake at 6 AM. The bed is exactly between 2 walls, so you have to climb over each other if you have to use the toilet. The shower really has no water pressure, which is not always good throughout Mexico, but I have never experienced the water pressure this bad, not even in Asia. Also the worst wifi we had in all Mexico. Plus no good areas to sit outside, uncomfortable wooden chairs, and half the place is still under construction. A lot of stray dogs and cats all over the property, also barking and whining all night long. Breakfast is a couple of days old toasted bread and jam. The bar only sells regular coke or water. Staff does not speak english at all. I travel a lot, about 3 months a year, mostly to remote places and back to basics, but still this is definitely top 5 worst stays over the last 10 years. A waist of money and time.

This hotel was perfect for our stay in Bacalar - clean, fresh and a great quiet atmosphere. The pool was amazing and we swam until 8pm most nights. Rooms are cleaned daily and are generous size and very very comfortable. Couldn’t ask for anything more. We loved our stay and would highly recommend.

It's a great hotel, beautiful even though it's not in the city center... It's worth the stay

Completely new hotel. The rooms are beautiful, very well designed! The staff was so nice, helped us with everything! They also gave us really good recommendations about good places to eat, how to get to places etc. The hotel is 5 minutes drive from the city center, the hotel staff helped us call taxis.

A pleasant stay, brand new and I think we were the second or third couple they received.Relaxed and cozy small rooms, yet equipped with all needs and still in final details. Staff is very helpful yet the only speak Spanish and used google to translate helping us with our tours & local eats. Even though the hotel is surrounded by a jungle, is also close to everything in Bacalar. So so with WiFi. Takes 3 to 5 minutes to downtown and the lagoon.
