Kilburn Holiday Cottage

Great size, exactly what we were after, comfortable and a great price. Definitely recommend.

Largs was great went to Millport for the day then got the ferry to Arran. then the next day got the ferry to rothesay.

the weather was great the all round trips were excellent 👌.

Location was great and only a 5 minute drive to the town centre and the house was just lovely

We couldn’t let our two year old go out to play in the garden as the steps were wobbly and there was broken glass around the greenhouse so not particularly safe.

We had a wonderful stay in a beautiful home! It was really clean, great communication with our hosts and a lovely location. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Quiet area but close enough to the town centre. Had space for all of us.

Where do I start... Day 1 We arrived at the accomodation to find a pile of laundry on the floor of the utility room. Turns out our beds hadn't been made. So as soon as we arrived, we were making beds up AND I had to do laundry to get enough washed and dried for us to go to sleep that night. I messaged the host and she asked if I wanted someone to come out the next day and I said there was no need as we'd have sorted it by the end of the night. Not long after we arrived, one of the wee girls (who has mobility needs and has to be able to hold on to the railing as she goes up and down stairs) was coming down the stairs when one of the spindles completely came off! Like it was just there for looks and completely unsafe. Her dad had to go out and get wood glue to fix not one but two loose spindles. I messaged the host about this too. Later in the evening we were getting the toddlers ready for bed and the door wardrobe in the room they were staying in completely fell off. It was a full sized heavy door that must've just been propped up. We were lucky the kids weren't in front of it when it fell! The host said she'd send someone to fix it the next day. Day 2 The night before was such a rush of cleaning and organising before we went out for dinner that it wasn't until the next morning I realised that no cleaners had been in altogether. I'd assumed it was cleaned but they just didn't complete it for some reason but no, there was food in the oven and grill, the shower screen had toothpaste on it, the downstairs sink was dusty, one of the kids found a cigarette butt in the sofa and we found a condom (still in the wrapper thankfully!!) in the kitchen of all places! At 8am I messaged the host to ask if a cleaner could come by... No reply. I sent follow up messages about other things that were a mess but again nothing.

Stunning house. Spacious, beautifully appointed, a real treat. Clean and well stocked especially the kitchen. Ample parking on the drive although the neighbour had left their car half across and we had to squeeze past. Didn’t use the garden but looked lovely

No instruction book and we couldn’t work the TV otherwise couldn’t fault it
