Kilburn Holiday Cottage

The size and location.

The lack of cleanliness. We found 3 old fried eggs in the oven, a bottle top from beer in the soup serving spoon, an old face mask hanging in the kitchen, dirt in the kitchen drawers, 3 outdoor bins with rotten rubbish in each, holes in the walls and weeds everywhere on the property. Additionally, we were not told the property overlooked a graveyard and struggled to work the oven as all the numbers/ stickers had worn off. Worst of all, I told the owner (Pamela) that I didn’t want to leave a review when she asked me to (as I don’t like to complain ordinarily) but suggested nicely that she invests in a new cleaner and she began to claim I owed her £100 for children I hadn’t paid for…even though I had paid £150 a night - fully before my stay. Her customer service left me feeling threatened and there was not one apology about the state of the house which I’d paid good money to hire for 2 nights. I will never be back and have had to raise a dispute regarding her threats. Avoid this house at all costs!

Everything was great. Beautiful house, just amazing. Walkable to everywhere in Largs. Was great for adults and kids. Couldn't fault it. Owner was very helpful too.

Very spacious

The property was well equipped for a large group and in a nice quiet neighbourhood next to the beautiful countryside just outside Largs.

The property definitely needs a deep clean, crumbs on sofas and lots of cobwebs as well as lots of dirty kitchen wear. Bathrooms had no bath mats or fans which led to very wet/ slippy bathrooms. Consideration needs to be looked at for the two twin rooms to have black out curtains as there is currently only privacy blinds that let in all light. Some of the beddings/ mattresses could do with updating.

Lovely large house in a quiet location. Very comfortable with a garden to sit out in. Bedrooms light and good size. Beds comfortable.

The cottage was spotless and so spacious. Heating available as I am ill. Plenty parking off the road. Everything supplied as said on booking.

Quite a far walk to the centre and beach. Only complaint if I had to make one was no bath or shower slip mats.

Liked the space and the three levels.

Could have had some information about local taxis takeaways, buses etc
