Kilburn Holiday Cottage

we liked the kitchen/dining area, I like the quirkiness of the diffe rentlevels.

couldn’t get the tv to work! some of the furniture & rooms need fixed/updated!

Online and at first glance we loved the look and size of this property and the design/space over 3 levels and thought it would be perfect for our group of 5 friends travelling together. It is potentially a great place to stay.

Unfortunately the lack of maintenance really let this potentially 5 star accommodation down and it didn't meet the standard we were expecting at all. There were 2 shower-rooms and 1 bathroom and although someone came quickly to look at one of the 2 showers on our request, it was unfixable for our stay . Every room could do with something fixed/sorted/repaired or replaced. The garden was definitely not the enjoyable outside space we had hoped for at all, it looked like it hadn't been maintained all year. Disappointed now looking at other reviews for June, July & September more closely that certain issues weren't looked at and sorted for our stay, especially the garden, seeing as we booked well in advance.

The property had a very nice homely feel but was modern and tastefully decorated. Very spacious with four great double bedrooms rooms one with en-suite and spacious singles ones. The kitchen is great and open and there is a large garden with sun terrace a burn flowing at the back from the mountains which are two steps away. Sited 15 walk into Largs and a short drive to ferry crossing to the highlands its located perfect. Will definitely rebook great for families. Owner was very quick to answer any questions we had.

The garden was badly in need of at very least a grass cut, but generally needs a good tidy up. Kick boards in Kitchen were kicked under. Skirting missing from areas of walls. Scratchings on the wallpaper. Unable to find a remote control for TV in dining area. Unable to find a wine opener One of the double beds was loose/creaky
