Good value for money hotel that serves a good breakfast

Stayed here 2 years ago so coming back was an obvious decision - and we won by 2 goals again too. Well located for the centre of town, excellent value for money, nice breakfast and helpful, pleasant housekeeper who sorted out what little I needed. As a former energy assessor, I'd suggest someone needs to review the motion sensor sights that stay on too long but I'm only raising that as the review questions did!

Didn’t check in as there was a full blown work site in the property. Told them I had a parcel coming, which I would pick up tomorrow, which they said would be no problems at all. It was put into the letterbox by DPD who took a photo of it.. When I arrived the day after the property told me that nothing had arrived! I even showed them the photo evidence.

Excellent value for money, very comfortable bed. Only downside, tiny shower cubicle. But would definitely use again.

The other guests were very loud and going in and out of their rooms all night and into the early hours so i couldn't get a good nights sleep all week. The room was cold and no hot water

Dreadful

We would be happy to return to Cosgrove. I was apprehensive simply due to the budget cost, but the building was in good order, the room was clean, and we had a good night's sleep in good quality beds. The cooked breakfast was cooked to order and whilst not the best breakfast we have eaten, was perfectly acceptable. We didn't like the shower too much as it was fixed height and impossible to get in without soaking the floor. For £40 a night for two people with a freshly cooked breakfast, it's very difficult to be negative. We have stayed in worse places for more money. It is a perfectly acceptable place to stop over for a night, and I'm pretty sure if we have the need to stay in Scunthorpe again, it's a place we would return to.

I booked via Hotels.com, turned up at 2310 (I have used this B&B in past as well for late check in with no issues)- helpline number on door which I called. I was told by the hotel administrator on phone that my booking was cancelled 24 hours ago and they have notified my booking agent. I told him that I have not recieved any email/phone/text and still at that point on hotels.com mobile app my reservation was showing as confirm and valid. The unhelpful administrator said that he cannot help me and I do not have a booked room at his B&B for the night. I had to travel 25 miles to get to another hotel as most hotels were completely booked due to local flooding and people using it.When I contacted Hotel.com, I was told that Hotel claims that due to late check in I was not allowed and they will not refund either. I am gutted as I should be compensate for inconvenience as well as travel plus my refund. I will file complaint with consumer reports, better business bureau as well as local council about the B&B as well as Hotels.com customer service who are really unhelpful.

The breakfast very nice. Convenient for town Bathroom needed some refurbishment.

This was splendid value for money. Mirka, the Polish lady and her husband were very kind and considerate. The room and bathroom were all I needed and everything was CLEAN. Well done.
