Bakenskraal Ostrich Palace

Everything was 100% beautiful, so much attention to detail, and the staff were so kind and generous. They did everything to help me out when I was having an issue with my credit card, down to offering me a complimentary Ostrich steak and dessert dinner. The morning I left (after having the Palace to myself for the night) I was even surprised with a sparkly clean washed car! Thank you thank you thank you <3

The location is gorgeous with mountain views. The breakfast room is lovely and the breakfast offered has a wide variety. The wrap around porches are spectacular and it was terrific to have our own entrance.

Location was good

....but food (evening meals ) were expensive ....check before you eat here as an Ostrich steak can only cost so much!

The location near the city center but away from the busy streets is great. We were in a cottage which was very spacious for 5 people. The breakfast was simple but good. The staff super friendly! Dirkie noticed our car was very dirty and washed it while we were still asleep.

The Quietness

It is such a lovely place with so much potential, beautiful scenery and the cottages are really beautiful. with very friendly staff that really try their best to give good service.

The staff, though very friendly are seemingly overworked or not they just don’t have enough staff members. breakfast was good food, but too little and not enough for all the guests, 3 days in a row. This is not the staff’s problem, they cannot cook and clean rooms at the same time. neither can there be only 1 gardener for the whole property.
