It was a great apartment - had everything we needed and was very clean. Nice location on the little river, easy for walking around or taking the train up to Gion. Lovely bathroom facilities. Kitchen facilities were small but useful, enabled us to cook for ourselves on an evening when we’d done enough city roaming.

The property was clean but did smell a bit dank, and - no doubt like much other Kyoto accommodation in the ‘eel house’ style, had views only of walls and very little daylight. Didn’t really bother us though - it was a nice cool retreat from the heat. For westerners like us, one additional chair (so we each had one) would have been nice.

The lighting in the house is dark making me feeling sleepy all the time. although the bathroom is spacious yet the ventilation system isn’t functional; thus, the bathroom became humid every time we finished our shower.

Strongly advice to use the chance to live in Japanese home instead of faceless hotel rooms. Rather convenient for 3 person, everyone has its place and can gather at the living room.

Sound isolation can be better, but not critical at all

very convenient, beautiful guest house, much larger than expected. Complete facilities, very clean. Large bathroom, 2 toilets.

Loads of space for a Japanese hotel and we loved the combination of a bedroom with a bed and a tatami room for the kids. The place was tastefully decorated and perfectly cleaned, and the host was really responsive. We had a lovely stay!

A few more lights and more detailed instructions for the air conditioning/heating would be handy.

It was very authentic in terms of the layout and style.

The lounge area was not very comfortable.
