Agriturismo La Fontaccia

This was the best place we stayed at on our road trip through Tuscany. Would have loved to stay longer. It is located not too far from Florence, in a beautiful olive farm. The hosts were very friendly and had vast knowledge of Italy and its history. We loved hearing Samuele’s stories. Also, if they offer to host dinner, it is a must try! We had a delicious 4 course meal and it was very affordable. We would have liked to try their cooking class if we had more time.

To get there, a car is definitely a must. But if you are already driving, book your stay!

The setting is magnificent, and our room was spacious and so comfortable. Breakast was very generous and tasty, and dinner is well worth ordering with many ingredients coming from the farm. But, the highlight of our stay was meeting our host Samuele. He is fantastic - informative about what to do in the area, he gave great background and perspective to the places we were going to visit that helped us experience everything at a deeper level. He was amusing and engaging, we felt completely relaxed and at home.

We had to leave, wish we could have stayed much longer!

In more than 40 years of travelling, this is certainly one of the places I loved the most. The farm is peaceful and offers incredible views of the surrounding hills. The apartment is clean, tastefully furnished and very well-equipped. Sam, is an incredibly helpful and friendly host, who really makes you feel at home. The food is delightful, and the hot-tub is something you shouldn’t miss.

The only slight inconvenience is the last stretch of the road leading to the farm. It’s a narrow one-lane rough road with a few bends. It only lasts a few minutes however, and there isn’t much traffic on it.

Such a wonderful place to base our Tuscany holiday. Beautiful property with fantastic views and a homely feel. Samuele and Elisabetta made us feel like part of the family. Samuele is extremely knowledgeable and even plotted out a day tour of Tuscany area with tips and information of what we would see. Thank you Samuele for time and I wish you and your family all the best!!

We had stayed only for 3 nights, but wished for more. Everything was perfect, the views, breakfast, bed and nature. Do not skip the dinner - it was highlight of our stay.

The most wonderful, helpful, friendly, knowledgeable hosts. A location which made me fall in love with the Italian countryside in a way I never expected. Views as far as the eye can see. Tasteful, traditional yet modern interiors/facilities and an incredible breakfast on offer with the added convenience of having dinner as an option too. Samuele went out of his way numerous times so that we might have a good time exploring the area.
