Bleu Cobalt Cottage: Subtle Gestures - Extraordinary Stay Our three-night stay at Bleu Cobalt Cottage in Franschhoek was magical, despite the rainy weather - maybe even because of it. This charming accommodation was the perfect base for our 20th anniversary celebration, mainly thanks to our host, Jan's warmth and dedication. As we arrived in the rain, we found Jan mopping the entrance to prevent slipping - a thoughtful gesture setting the tone for our entire stay. This attention to detail was evident throughout the cottage. Windows, that could easily have been left looking onto a bland boundary wall was changed into vibrant, nature-infused vignettes with colourful hanging succulent baskets. Even a printout of weather conditions was provided to help plan our activities. Inside, the cottage exudes subtle luxury. Immaculate cleanliness and high-quality furnishings and finishes made us feel pampered. Modern conveniences like WiFi and air conditioning ensured comfort, but it was the little touches that truly elevated our experience: plush robes, comfortable slippers, homemade rusks, and chocolates, to mention just a few. Bleu Cobalt Cottage's commitment to guest delight was remarkable. Each day, we returned to fresh scents and subtle decor changes - new cushion arrangements, artfully draped throws, and lavender on pillows. These ongoing adjustments created a sense of care beyond the ordinary. Jan's acknowledgment of our anniversary in so many ways, touched us deeply. While we couldn't enjoy the beautiful pool and courtyard due to weather, the cottage's central location was a significant plus. Though not the largest or grandest accommodation in Franschhoek, Bleu Cobalt Cottage is exceptional. Its magic lies in meticulous attention to detail, warm hospitality, and constant efforts to enhance the guest experience through meaningful touches.

The guesthouse is beautiful! Very clean and spacious with a private pool. The host is super friendly and welcoming.

The Cottage is beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean, the host Jan has thought of everything. The private area outside and the pool are fab, pretty garden with lots of flower's and shrubs to attract the birds. Jan sent us useful information on booking and then more on check in which helped us decide how we would spend our time, he gave us excellent recommendations for restaurants and vineyards to visit. There were lots of lovely little touches each day it was definitely a 5 star experience and we hope to return. Thanyou Jan for making our stay so perfect!!

Bleu Cobalt cottage is absolutely perfect! Walking distance to the high street. Jan is an excellent host, we were very spoilt!

The whole place was impeccable. Jan was super friendly and gave us loads of restaurant suggestions - if only we'd had more time to try them all! I particularly liked that everything was thought of, such as plugs and adapters (local and international) throughout the place. Really glad we found this place and we can't wait to come back one day.

Even before we arrived at Bleu Cobalt Cottage, we knew we were in good hands. Jan responded to every text almost immediately and gave us good advice along the way. We were warmly welcomed. From the freshly ground coffee and rusks for breakfast to the the chocolates on our bedside table at night and everything in between, we felt completely at home. Jan gave us suggestions on things to do and where to go and answer all of our questions. We left lucky to have been able to enjoy Jan's warm hospitality and lovely accommodations.

The host was exceptionally professional,helpful and friendly. Supplied beautiful black furry slippers and bathrobes. Flowers on our pillow each night/comp bottle of wine and port supplied/change of decorative pillows and comforter each night and voucher to a local cafe as we were staying for a while. Decor fabulous/shower v hot. Sent us info on restaurants in advance and checked we got to airport ok after we left. 10 stars if they had it!

Everything exceeded my expectations, from the moment I booked and even after I checked out, the correspondence from Jan detailed everything possible. The accommodation was exceptionally clean, comfortable and beautiful. The extra touches were so special. Jan is an exceptional host and deserves a rating of 10. The location was excellent, convenient and walking distance to everything needed. It was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. A slice of heaven. Thank you Jan!
