"Charming and well located."

10.0

For us on a biking trip from town to town, this hotel located in the centre of the old town was very convenient. Daniel, the young man at reception was jovial, friendly and very helpful with all our entities. The facilities were modern and we had a real good sleep. Daniel was on the job again the next morning overlooking the morning breakfast, one of the best on our trip. They had a private locker for our bikes which was an asset.

"Disappointing and Pricey Dining"

4.0

I have been dining for years at this restaurant and I was most disappointed with their menu and food quality during my last stay. The owners have changed and one of their chefs is now the new owner. The decor changed to something chilled and modern, away from the bit rustic but original feel of Waldshut. Not my favorite ambiance. It's Spargel season, and one must experience Badischer Spargel. It was just ok; the spargel was peeled and cooked well, the foamy cream on top was just yucky! The meet was far from tender and could only be chewed until every fiber gave up. The sauce was not pleasant. 4 people, one soup, 2 spargel main courses, 1 meat main course, Ragout, 2 bottles of water, 1 bottle of white wine. $154 for lunch. Sadly, many regular customers have switched to other restaurants because too many things have changed for the worse. Please figure out what was so good about the previous menu, food and service and bring it back! It would be worth it!

"A Great Charming Hotel in a Wonderful Old Town in Germany"

10.0

I spent a night at the Waldhuter Hof during a recent bicycle trip through the region that borders Germany and Switzerland. The hotel is a wonderful stay. Its right on the main drag of the old town. This centuries-old building has been modernized and its rooms were well-appointed. It's a step back in time. When you come to Waldshut, this hotel is the place to be. My bike package included breakfast and dinner. The young, genial owners serve an elegant meal in its second floor restaurant or outside on its tables that are directly on the market square. Should you find a reason to come to this charming part of Germany, the Waldhuter Hof is the place to rest your head.

"Great central location"

8.0

We stayed at this hotel for one night as part of our Rhine River cycle tour. It is situated central to the main market square and the 'old' town as well as many restaurants. We stayed in room #23, which was a good size. The beds were comfortable (2 x king singles for a couple) and the bathroom was light and modern with well appointed fittings. The hotel has a lift and free wifi in rooms. The staff were friendly and professional. The breakfast room was a good layout - this was included in our deal. There was a hearty selection of cereals, breads, meats, cheeses, jams, juices, tea & coffee. Recommended.

"Depends who you are with"

8.0

I found the hotel to be really perfect. Our room was recently redone. The location in the middle of the main walking street is perfect. The hotel parking is very convenient. The TV was a bit limited with a German channel. But who needs TV. I didn't.

"Newly renovated hotel with excellent food"

10.0

The hotel Waldshuter-Hof is situated in the pedestrian zone of the old town of Waldshut. The hotel is well maintained. The rooms are new and very clean. The beds are comfortable. The bathroom was pristine neat equipped with a shower cabin. Wifi was free with a good speed. The only setback is that only German TV channels are switched on. The highlight of our stay in the hotel was the evening diner that is available with the half pension formula and charged € 18.50 per person which includes a glass of sparkling wine. Advance booking is required. A well elaborated 3 course dinner with either fish or meat is served. The quality and the freshness of the food were impeccable. Very seldom I compliment the Chef, but here it was well deserved. The restaurant was decorated tastefully for Easter. The breakfast buffet was good without surprise garnished with fresh bread, rolls, cheese, cold cuts and muesli. It is possible to park the car behind the hotel as from 07.00 PM to 08.00AM free of charge. The hotel garage is 200 yards away and is charged € 5.- for 24 hours. We normally stay in the South Black Forest Region before flying out from Zürich airport which is only 45 minutes drive from Waldshut.

"An excellent stop"

10.0

We arrived at Waldshut with no accomodation booked and were lucky enough to meet the owner of the hotel in the street, he had just had a cancellation and changed bookings around so that we could have two single beds. On seeing our room we were surprised just how modern everything was, the shower was superb. Our rate included breakfast and a parking space for our two motorcycles, this was very reasonable. We wandered around Waldshut looking at the various places to eat but decided to take advantage of the "guest" rate for a three course meal. A wise choice as the owner is also the chef and very good one at that ! The beds were very comfortable and although at the rear of the hotel it was very quiet, we slept soundly after being fed very well. Breakfast was a good assortment of breads, cheeses, meats and the various other items usually present. All were very fresh and very well presented. Over two weeks in 5 countries this was by far the best and friendliest hotel we stayed in.
