Family Batcave Homestay

Nous avons passé un séjour inoubliable chez l’habitant à Battambang. L’emplacement est idéal, à seulement 10 minutes à pied du site des chauves-souris. Dès notre arrivée, notre hôte a été exceptionnel : il nous a fait découvrir les caves lors de notre première soirée et a pris le temps de nous expliquer avec beaucoup de pédagogie l’histoire de son pays. Grâce à lui, nous avons également pu visiter plusieurs lieux de Battambang à travers une activité organisée, ce qui a vraiment enrichi notre séjour. Sa femme est une cuisinière incroyable : tous les repas étaient absolument délicieux. Plus largement, toute la famille nous a réservé un accueil d’une grande gentillesse, et nous avons partagé de très beaux moments avec eux. Le logement est simple mais tout à fait suffisant. Nous avons passé deux nuits très paisibles et reposantes.

Just a few steps from Bat Cave, a peaceful and family-friendly place! A huge thank you to my host and their family for their warm welcome and for the moments we shared together over meals. The owner gave great recommendations for activities and helped me organize my transportation.

This is a rustic homestay. The family are lovely and a great level of English. Walkable to the batcave and some restaurants. Dinner cooked onsite was tasty, and the tour we booked through them was a great standard.

Nothing, it’s not a hotel so comfort levels won’t be luxury, this is more about the experience

Beim Eintreffen wurden wir vom Besitzer freundlich empfangen und zunächst mit Wasser versorgt. Die Bat Caves sind in etwa fünf Minuten zu Fuß erreichbar. Nachdem wir uns die Fledermäuse angesehen hatten, konnten wir in der Unterkunft noch ein sehr leckeres Lok Lak genießen. Das Frühstück haben wir nicht ausprobiert, da uns am Morgen ein Kaffee reicht und wir außerdem einen langen Reisetag vor uns hatten.

I stayed in the tent, which was very comfortable with mattress and bedding, a fan, and power outlets. I was worried it would be too hot sleeping without aircon in mid April, but it was absolutely fine at night. The fan helped too. It was also super fun on a platform over a pond! Loved the hammock. The bathrooms were clean and well equipped. I was given a towel too. The food was delicious - breakfast is included! The location is great, just a short walk from the bat caves and food places. But still feel in the country side. I liked that it was out of the main city. Esaro sorted out tuk tuks for me, a tour for me and a couple of others staying there (which was a great day!), and even came with us up to the temple by the killing caves to tell us the story depicted. Esaro and his family are so so welcoming and kind. I was lucky enough to be there for Khmer New Year and had a great time spending time with them in the evening. Overall a fantastic stay. One of the highlights of my 3 months travelling Asia. Would absolutely recommend.

Très bon séjour dans cette guest house ! La chambre était correcte, avec la climatisation, ce qui est vraiment appréciable. Nous avons mangé sur place pour le petit déjeuner et le dîner : c’était la maman de la famille qui cuisinait, et c’était vraiment très bon. La famille est très sympathique, accueillante, et les enfants sont adorables, vraiment mignons et très gentils. Le village est aussi agréable, avec un café juste à côté que je recommande. L’emplacement est pratique, pas loin de Phnom Samphov, idéal pour aller voir les chauves-souris en fin de journée. Une adresse simple, familiale et chaleureuse !

We loved the homestay! The family is very kind and we had a lot of nice chats with them. The place is a 20 min drive from Battambang but you're near the impressive batcave and can walk there to see the bats fly out in the evening. We were sad to leave this peaceful place.
