Hotel Casa Alquimia

Beautiful building. Lovely staff and delicious breakfast.

Very noisy due to extremely creaky floorboards, furniture and large gaps under doors meaning all sound travelled far. Repeatedly woken up by Americans in room next door talking loudly (no sound proofing whatsoever). I booked a room thinking it would have a balcony due to two being named the same thing but only one of them had a balcony which is very confusing given they were the same level of room.

Casa Alquimia is a hotel in the Old Town of Quito, Ecuador. As is typical of hotels in that area, it lacks certain modern conveniences, such as elevators and ice machines. But the hotel has a great location, charming decor and accommodating staff. One modern conveniences in the hotel is great wifi.

El hotel es verdaderamente un lugr muy bonito, cada detalle perfectamente ubicado, cuando te despiertas la vista es increíble, subes por tu desayuno a la terraza y te espera una vista aun más extraordinaria. Además para movilizarte la estación de metro es muy cercana sales y tienes la iglesia cerca, muy bonito todo.

É um hotel em uma casa clássica, em meio ao charmoso centro histórico de Quito. Cama grande confortável, chuveiro quente, wifi e café da manhã delicioso. Nossa estadia foi ótima. Super limpo e confortável. Funcionários foram atenciosos quando perguntamos algo.

Por ser um hotel em uma casona antiga, o chão faz um pouco de barulho ao caminhar e o acesso ao quarto é por escadas. Porém era esperado e ok para o tipo de acomodação.

The hotel is truly beautiful and very atmospheric, with charming interiors and a great location close to the historic center. Everything was clean, the staff was polite and helpful, and the breakfast was good.

Our room had no window at all, despite being described as having a “garden view.” There was no actual view of any kind. This was not communicated in advance and felt misleading. The only small openings were in the door facing the patio or corridor and could only be opened briefly, which did not allow for proper ventilation. As a result, the room was very stuffy and uncomfortable.

A stylish, comfortable hotel, with lovely staff and a delicious breakfast. I’d stayed here before and it was just as nice as I remembered.

Loved the property for its historical architecture. This used to be a hospital many years ago. Lovely views from their outdoor patios. Steps from downtown. We walked to most sites or took the bus. You could also take a taxi. Our room overlooked a plaza and there were bands playing in there and we could watch from our room. Only issue- no hot water for showering - but apparently most places that are older have this same issue.

Cold water in the shower- but apparently that is common for historical buildings.
