Cocobolo Beach Boutique Hotel

We've spent an excellent 10 days in Cocobolo. Super friendly and helpful hosts, quiet and peaceful place, tasty and well-priced food in the restaurant, excellent breakfasts (included), and a few sandy beaches at the walking distance. The whole crew and staff in the hotel and restaurant are engaged and will do an extra to make the guests happy - we would see genuine smiles everywhere - such a big difference to make our day! Staying with kids, it was important and convenient for us to have a full kitchen. Grocery stores are within driving distance, so we had an easy choice whether to eat at the restaurant (newly built this year!) or cook ourselves. The rooms are spacious, well furnished, and provide all the conveniences along with the stanning views. We loved the full solid wood furniture everywhere - very good choice by the owners! The hosts were helpful in booking local activities - ATV tour, deep-water fishing trip (we've caught a 7-feet long marlin!), as well as informed about beginning of "arribada" - a unique event on the nearby wildlife reserve when thousands of Olive Ridely sea turtles come out to lay eggs. Absolutely unforgettable experience! Not to mention the endless iguanas, birds, and hauler monkeys right at the property. The whole family loved the stay there. Would highly recommend to everyone who is looking to relax, rest, and get close to the nature!

The view from the rooms balcony was absolutely amaizing. The staff were all helpful and willing to always do more. Issac, who waited on us for dinner was wonderful. He took us under his wing and helped us understand the property, escorted us to our room and even carried our luggage up stairs.

We had such a wonderful time! This small boutique resort is extremely well designed, maintained and managed. The setting is very beautiful, the service is next-level in friendliness and helpfulness. Keren and Lior are super-friendly and welcoming hosts. The restaurant (especially breakfast!) is amazing. You can explore the beachfront and find your own secluded bit of beach to sun bathe, swim, snorkel, and relax. The sunsets beyond the rocks and waves are stunning. You should be prepared for some rough road with potholes in the past few miles of the journey, so do not rent a little Toyota Yaris. But if you are in a larger vehicle with higher clearance (we had a Suzuki SUV) you will be fine if you are careful and take it slow. It is well worth the trip! Enjoy! We'll definitely be back.

Such a beautiful place. Would definitely stay again

It was our last place that we stayed while exploring Costa Rica and it was a wonderful end to our adventure. The room was very spacious, with great shower and amazing view. There is a bar and restaurant on the premises with dish choices that will suit everyone ( my partner is a very picky eater and he found something for his taste buds everyday) Ocean is at your doorstep with lovely beach. Staff is very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Some reviews I have read about the hotel mentioned atrocious road to the property . That is an exaggeration. The road is rather bumpy for around 3-4 km not 15 miles . I would definitely stay at this hotel again, we have had stupendous times!

Everything about the property and beach was what we were looking for. Quite not overpopulated. We walked the rocks and tidal pools for hours. Staff was friendly and attentive. Small bar and restaurant on property was great. We will be returning.

- the one outstanding thing: the beach - (although it could need some cleaning of the little plastic things like spoons and forks..etc) .. this beach is amazing. - the view from the porch, very sweet - the breakfast options were the usual in CR but with good quality and plenty topped up with a nice smoothie and fruits, restaurant in generell ok (totally overpriced for the quality compared to European standards, but that is the case almost everywhere in Costa Rica) - Isaac and the staff were very professional and friendly and welcoming

- the room was infested with ants and insects to a level that it became very uncomfortable -(see photo ) we were getting rid of the ants every evening only to realize that the stains on the floor were not cleaned the next day. - the whole hotel areal looks and feels like a construction site ( because it partially is )- considering the price that seems unfair. we tried to have lunch in the "Restaurant" because all tables were taken - could not be done due to pounding and hammering. - the first room we had, had a broken AC - very loud AC - we were able to change the room. (second room also infested by ants) taken all together: the beach is fantastic, but the little Hotel has way too many uncomfortable flaws, especially for the high price.
