"Great place to stay, but snooty service at the restaurant..."

6.0

My husband and I stayed here for the weekend and had an overall great experience (rooms, location, amenities), but we had an issue with the service staff at the Meridian Restaurant (located in the hotel). The service staff were very disrespectful and rude - there was definitely a "we're too good for you" attitude towards us, even though we were guests. Such a bummer because the restaurant is such a selling point with great food.

"Avoid the lodge and head to Cannon Beach instead."

2.0

The staff at the lodge is awful. The attitude each displayed was they believe they are doing you a favor by even responding to you as a paying guest. Couple of examples: they are supposed to have hot chocolate set up each night at 7pm. Two nights in a row it wasn’t there. My 9 year old daughter went to the front desk to ask if they were going to set it up and the clerk didn’t even look away from his monitor and just said, “No.” Watching this unfold I quickly went up to ask (since the price to stay is astronomical and they advertise this service.) The clerk sighed loudly and said, “I guess I can make a cup for your kid….” This is the how the entire staff is. Next example, bought the 75$ camp fire/s’mores set. Asked the clerk before taking it all down to the beach, “are you sure everything I need is packed?” Clerks response, “Yes.” Get to beach, chairs set, hole dug, wood set up. No matches, not starter, no mallows in the box. Walk all the way back up to the lodge. Same hot chocolate clerk from previous night looking annoyed he has to talk to a customer. 20 minutes of him walking around trying to find matches, starter and mallows. Place is very nice. Staff should be replaced.

The area is amazing and the views spectacular. For the cost of the hotel, unfortunately overall the staff and the customer service is heavily lacking comparatively to the amount it costs to spend a night there. From arrival I don’t think there’s much warmth and welcome. Not a lot of guidance and help. For this type of establishment it’s important to have a warm front desk, good communication about the amenities and the ensuring the room and the place is comfortable and that everything is well. The room and view was outstanding and the room was clean and was breathtaking to see the water and rock, the capes. My girlfriend did say she was disappointed with some of the salts and extras for the bath tub. The biggest complaint was I had planned a proposal for my girlfriend and wanted to keep it very

"Weekend Getaway"

10.0

I spent the weekend celebrating a birthday getaway and stayed on the 3rd floor, where the beach view was absolutely stunning. The rooms were beautifully decorated, and I particularly loved the soaking tub, especially with the fantastic bath salts provided. We enjoyed a delicious dinner one evening at the lodge, and our bartenders, Bethany and Lily, were exceptional, offering great suggestions for sightseeing during the day. Overall, it was an incredible experience!

"More picturesque than a quintessential Oceanfront Resort"

10.0

Headlands Coastal Lodge & Spa and Cottages is the ultimate beachfront resort experience. The views at Headlands Lodge are unbeatable, being perched right over the beach on the tranquil Oregon Coast. I love watching the dory boats return from their fishing, landing right on the beach with their flat hulls. A delicious snack or meal at Meridian Restaurant while gazing out at the ocean with make you want to return again and again....

"Must visit, very relaxing and stunning ocean front views"

10.0

If you're searching for oceanfront views with a relaxing and delicious experience, Headlands is the place to be. As returning guests, we are surprised it has taken us this long to leave a review, would rate this 10/10. The oceanfront views are amazing, you are placed right on the beach with nothing in front of you except the beach and ocean. The room is modern with a beautiful walk-in shower with glass walls and a soaking tub with complimentary local bath salts. They also have pet friendly rooms and seem to provide all local or from OR snacks and supplies. We can't compliment the staff enough on this stay. Walking into the Headlands is always a thrill with its grand entryway with warm welcomes from the front staff. Sammie really ensured our check-in and check-out was a breeze! Rhiannon remembered us from last time and welcomed us back and helped made sure our room was stocked with welcome beverages and sweet hand written cards to help celebrate birthdays. The entire staff for their restaurant Meridian were fantastic and shared the same accommodating and great service experience. Not only is the hotel, the restaurant, and the rooms aesthetically pleasing, but again, the oceanfront views are breathtaking and totally worth the stay. The food at the Meridian is top-notch. The halibut entree at dinner was stunning, perfectly cooked halibut sitting on top of perfectly grilled kale and mashed potatoes. Breakfast was also delicious and compared to some other restaurants like the Jory at the Allison Inn & Spa, we felt like the food at the Meridian was better! What a relaxing getaway and you really feel transported away from the day to day life. You don't need to travel really anywhere else, Headlands has you covered with everything! We also brought our toddler and dog, who both absolutely loved their stay. It made for amazing memories and we are grateful to have created them at the Headlands. As we checked out, we were sad to leave but excited knowing there will be future visits ahead. Thanks for a great time!

I booked this hotel as a special "treat" for a family member and myself. First visit to Oregon let alone the Oregon coast. Front desk team was terrific! Great demonstration of hospitality. Service at the bar (which is a hot spot with a great view) was terrible on more than one occasion! We sat at the bar, one seat away from another couple at the bar that was engrossed in a conversation with two of the bartenders for at least 15 minutes. We finally had to interrupt the conversation to ask for service. Two other visits to the bar left something to be desired as we ordered top shelf vodka and got well vodka but charged for the more expensive kind. Beautiful hotel and alot in the plus column however, at the nightly rate paid, I would expect EVERYTHING to be next level!

We just stayed at the Headlands, it was amazing! I had read reviews and they recommended the top floor and they were right our room was beautiful with vaulted ceilings and an amazing view of haystack rock and the beach from our ocean front balcony. The Meridian Restaurant was fantastic and Pelican brewery shares a parking lot with the lodge. 10 out of 10 We would definitely stay again!

"Nice hotel. Ok staff"

6.0

This is a very nice property. Staff wasn’t the greatest and were rude at times. When ur paying $700 a night for a hotel you expect the service to be top notch and it just wasn’t. The restaurant was a little frustrating as well. For dinner we didn’t have reservations as it was empty only to be told that they didn’t have room for 30 minutes. The same table was empty while we waited only to be forced to sit in the lobby just to prove a point. At the scheduled time is when we’re sat down. I’m with my 11 yo son and it was just rude. Do better.
