Hampton Inn Sedalia

Well, when we checked in we had issues with our key, so did the people 2 doors from us, same time. The woman at the desk, whom we thought was a bit overwhelmed with 2 rooms having difficulties, didn't handle the situation well at all. As we all stood in the hot hallway, watching this woman and a maintenance guy try to work the locks, we were then allowed to enter the room but noticed very strong odors and the desk chair had a hand written note on it, saying something like it was just cleaned, which was odd, along with very strong odors...smelled like dog poo....Found out they allow pets in all rooms, another frequent guest we met told us it has happened to him more than once. The woman decided to give us another room, ONLY because we had not touched anything!!! Wow, is all I could think, as I was tired from traveling. The second room was acceptable. But the woman never truly apologized for the inconvenience. We reluctantly stayed the night. BUT later, went to use the shower, and a bunch of WET washrags were stuff around the top of the shower curtain!!! Kidding???? NOPE. In the morning, after telling the desk clerk our second bad experience, she said to send her images I took and she would contact her superiors. I sent those, but needless to say I never again heard from anyone there. I only write this now because I was just remembering what a bad experience we had there as I am planning another trip. Hoping one of their superiors sees this, but not holding my breath.

Best hotel I have stayed at in a while.

The rooms, breakfast and location were excellent.

The air conditioning was wonderful. If the option to keep the fan running was available, that would really be great. More parking for pickup sized vehicles would be nice. Visitors pulling trailers should be encouraged to park out of the street. They just take up so many spots. We could have used a microwave in the room.

Hotel was nice, breakfast was ok, location is good. I learned there is no real protocol at this location during a tornado warning. Other than that it was a nice stay
