"The beach experience was unforgettable. The stay could be better. But the food was a disappointment."

3.0

The beach cleanliness was okay. Nothing could go wrong with God's creation. Beach was phenomenal. Room size for my family was satisfactory as we came with 8 adults and 1 baby. Enough space for everyone. AC was great. There's water dispenser, and that's it. They did tell us before hand that there won't be any heater, fridge and television. So we prepared ourselves with dry snacks and ready-to-eat food. Brought our own volleyball and some board games to entertain ourselves in case it rains or if we get bored. Towels provided too. It would be nice if they could provide mosquito coils just incase some patrons weren't prepared for the mosquito attacks. There were only a few staffs so we could tell they were lack of manpower. Izan another guy (didn't managed to get his name-the one in cap most of the time) did a great job in preparing the room and making preparations for the cake as we did request for a celebration for my mother's birthday. Cake was nice. Tasted fresh. It would be nice if the rooms and toilets was given a really well deep-clean. We didn't really mind about having sand in the room cause obviously you are right in front of the beach (but on the bed you just have to dust a little bit). Location of the chalet is very good. It would be a waste if patrons come only for the beach but not enjoying their stay, which will not make them come back again. Sandflies rule the beach so prepare insect repellent.

Food wise was terrible. Not much of a variety. And the worst thing is that there weren't enough food for everyone. Breakfast was served at 7.30am and we had to "rush" to get the food. By 8am, not much food left. As we watch out patrons came later with disappointed faces. Lunch at 12.30pm, was served food which was served in the morning. Only dinner was a different choice but again, we had to arrive early so as not to miss out. Choices were very very limited. Would not recommend patrons to get the full board meal. Instead get your own snacks or you can walk a little further down from the chalet and visit the locals. There are small kampong businesses selling food, drinks and snacks which are more worth. There's a burger shop but it was closed when we came. But we had some hot snacks and cold drinks after we cycled along the pathway till the end and back. Bicycles provided but it's breaking apart. Trash bin in front of our chalet was cleared only on the last day we were there. Again, maybe because of the lack of manpower. No water heater provided wasn't a problem but we did request fora kettle but wasn't provided. Another issue we had was during dinner. We were told to order out food at least 3hours in advance, so we did. More than 3hours and were told to come the the coffeehouse at 7.30pm to have our dinner. We ordered 6 x Fried Rice with Chicken and Egg, 2 Spaghetti Aglio Olio (extra spicy), fries and a fruit platter plus 8 cans of coke. When we came, the food wasn't ready. We had to wait for at least 50mins for the food to arrive. The food was cold. Fried rice and egg was served with fries as a side. Fries and egg was cold too. Fried chicken came later, hot but bland. A plate of fries came, cold (RM8) . Fruit platter, watermelon and oranges (RM15). Pasta came, Aglio Olio with samyang sauce (probably we asked for extra spicy). Fried Rice with Egg and Chicken (RM10+RM2+RM7). Spaghetti Aglio Olio Seafood (RM12+RM8).

The island itself and the beaches are great. A bit of sandflies at certain area but still a nice place to relax. Snorkeling spots are around the island, 15-20 mins boat ride which is exciting enough.

Room cleanliness & toilets are the main issue here. I came with my mom and my husband with big expectations, but only the beach is great here.

"Tropical paradise, rustic and back to nature."

7.0

I think bayu is the best hotel so far on the island and it has the best side of the beach. The beach is really gorgeous. The staff are polite . The hotel is rustic and no frills.

The rooms are clean enough with hot water. I read about bed bugs. I thought our bed didn’t have bed bugs but later, I developed some bites but I am not sure it’s due to bed bugs. The hotel should sell drinks to hotel guest especially at the beach area.

"We had a blast at the beach but beyond that, the rooms, the service, the cleanliness and the Food was utterly terrible"

5.0

The beach was fabulous, white sands and clear water, absolutely loved it

Cleanliness, it’s dirty as hell. The food was horrible. The beds have bed bugs. This place has so much potential, but the resort really wasted.
