The George Great Oxendon

Both dinner and breakfast are of a very high quality, with plenty of choice. Service is quick without being rushed. Friendly service from the moment I arrived to leaving the next morning.

Fantastic food, helpful friendly staff.

Only very minor negatives to mention - and I’m being picky…. Room above the kitchen was a bit noisy on an evening. Bath towel not changed in a 4 night stay.

Clean ,friendly, beautiful garden.

Coffee machine in the bedroom was out of order.

Dinner was ok Breakfast was better. Room comfortable but bed was quite small. Staff were attentive and always happy to help

Too much light under door and through window made sleeping difficult. Lots of noise in the corridor made sleeping hard. Did not like air fresheners as unhealthy and not good for you Single plastics in bathroom not sustainable

From the friendly welcome, to the excellent dinner with lots of options (inc. good variety of vegetarian options as well) to the breakfast, it was a very pleasant stay. The restaurant and bar area should be busier than it is, bit of a hidden gem food and drink wise compared to restaurants in close by Market Harborough. Chef willing to adapt to individual dietary needs (noticed this both in the evening and breakfast time). Great location, just a short drive from the A14.

Noise from kitchens below some of the rooms could disturb some people if they wanted an early night if a light sleeper, but I was fine with it. They also have rooms at the front of the property overlooking and having access to the garden area which are quieter.

The breakfast was beyond my expectations - excellent. I also had a couple of evening meals. Both excellent.

It was noisy on the Friday night but this did not interfere with my sleeping.
