Hotel Panajachel Los Angeles

I stayed four nights at this hotel after my arrival at Panajachel. I got a totally new room at the rectly build addition to the hotel so everything was new and clean. The staff was very pleasant and attentive. Would definitely come back here.

It should be clear that it is in an alley within an alley and it can be very dangerous at night, it is a 3 block walk to get to a Main Street. The hotel is very noisy at night, sine the rooms have metal doors you can hear all your neighbors and people going in and out.

meget rask og enkel innsjekk av blid og imøtekommende resepsjonist. rommet hadde enkel , men ok standard. savnet gode sittemøbler. wi-fi virket ikke inne på mitt rom. lå noe bortgjemt, men god skilting gjorde det enkelt å finne . kort avstand til restauranter og shopping. frokostservering også enkel men ok.

I was generally happy except for missing any kind of clothing cabinet or at least a standing hanger, at least one chair (I had to grab one from outside) and a small table (I had to use the bedside table for that).

We had a booking but when we arrived the old lady only had an old book, and no internet. The rooms bore no resemblance to the charming pictures on the internet. We cancelled and found a different hotel!

It is not going to be at all luxurious, but I have been to worst hotels in Guatemala. They have free wifi, water in the lobby, and breakfast outside. They do have a really pretty courtyard that is so artsy!

The place was clean, easy to find. A good 10min walk to the beach and very close to many restaurants. Wifi works. The staff was great and helped me to book shuttles. I just find a bit pricy for that place. Very dark lobby.. had to checkout early morning and it was pitch dark.. door was locked.. couldn't get out. Had to knock a couple times before somebody woke up. But its an isolate situation.. its ok. Just the darkness...

If you like quietness during the day but noisy neigbours during the evening/night for an affordable price this is the place. The hotel is located at the end of an alley, so no traffic noises, but is built next to a Evangelical Church that have, 3 nights a week, services with a terrible HIGH level of music from speakers. From 7.00 to 10.00 pm it was unbereable. They don't care .... and hotel management don't care either. Sorry

I only paid Q81 ($11) for a private room with my own bathroom. There were actually 5 beds in the room, but the room was just for me. The shower had hot water and the room was really clean. I was on the ground level, behind the reception, so the internet worked great. I'm not sure if it worked all around the hotel, however. Overall it was a nice, clean, quiet hotel!

I was GRANDPAcking in Panajachel for 5 nights whilst I looked around the lake for a Spanish School. I stayed at the Los Angeles. I got a Double Room at a discounted rate of GTQ90 / night. It is down a back street a good 10 minute walk from the Boat Dock ... you would not want to be any further away. It was a 5 minute walk to the main street where you find all of the tourist restaurants and bars. The room was large and spacious. It had good Cable TV with several English Speaking channels. They are still renovating, so you get the sound of workmen during the day. They must have done something to the water on my first night because the shower had no hot water ... but this came right on day 2. The owners are very nice and friendly ... I wish them well. But you would not want to pay Rack Rate at this hotel. It is good value if you can get a good discount.
