"Good"

1.0

Great location for Sophia Gardens cricket.

I paid approximately £350 and breakfast wasn’t included. Just as well really because the bedroom was like a sweatbox and I didn’t sleep at all, so left as quickly as I could the next day. It was cooler outside than inside. There was a fan in the room but even that was blowing out warm air. When I asked to be moved I was told it wasn’t possible. They did, however, offer me a bucket of ice that I could carry myself up to the third floor room, in the sweltering heat.

"Absolutely boiling"

1.0

Very modern and breakfast was nice

We arrived at the hotel , when we checked in we asked if there was a fan or air conditioning in the room, which the lady replied saying that there was a Dyson cooler and that it should be okay. When we arrived in the room, it was absolutely boiling inside, it was unbearable, plus the window wouldn’t even open more than 5 cm. I do understand that this is for safety reasons , and one of the staff tried to unlock it but it was impossible. With that situation , we went downstairs to try and speak with the lady at the front desk since it would be impossible to sleep with those conditions in a 35 deg day. We tried to get a refund and go to a different hotel , but no solution was given or refund. So, we had to book a last minute room in the Holiday Inn hotel which did have air conditioning. No professionalism from the front desk staff , not even a voucher to compensate or an email before hand which would have been nice since the rooms are not prepared for a heatwave. I do understand that these are not normal conditions since usually it’s not that hot but they could have said something before we checked in? We had to book a different hotel and pay for a room we didn’t even use , which could have been avoidable. The lack of professionalism and transparency from the staff really disappointed the whole family since we booked two rooms and all that money has been wasted. Booking.com was the only one to give us £50 voucher that doesn’t even cover half of what the cost of what the room was, but at least is more than what the hotel has given us which is zero. We will definitely never recommend this hotel to anyone unless they want to get the worst experience ever

"Always spot on."

It suits us and our dog perfectly. With Bute Park and Sophia Gardens directly behind us, the dog loved it. All the staff seem to be dog lovers too! Lovely walks along the river, or an easy walk to the castle / shops. Breakfast superb. Even managed free parking down one of the side streets nearby!

Nothing to dislike.

The approach to the first floor rooms should have been cleaner.

"Small but pleasant."

8.0

Nice comfortable bed and warm shower. All the staff were friendly and courteous.

Noise from bar below, main road and staff closing down/setting up. Room was on the small side.
