Julie and John were excellent hosts. I stayed in room 9 that has been tastefully decorated and furnished. The room was very comfortable and exceptionally clean with all the facilities you needed. My stay was an unexpected stay so I didn't have any overnight things with me. Thus, Julie kindly provided me with a toothbrush and toothpaste at no cost and there was soap, shower gel and shampoo in the room so I was able to freshen up. The bed was very comfortable and the bed linen was clean and fresh. In terms of breakfast it was delicious - the scrambled egg was lovely and fluffy just how I like it. If I ever have to stay in Scarborough again I would certainly return and I have no hesitation in recommending The Almar 😍

The hosts were superb. I was only here for one night, attending a funeral the next day. I left feeling like John and Julie were old friends. Fantastic breakfast, excellent value stay.

One of the best hotels I've ever stayed in the UK. Great location, friendly, caring workers (they are the hotel owners :), delicious breakfast and a lot of small really meaningful things (like bars of chocolate in the room, bottle of water, hot chocolate and friendly chats, small "thank you and very welcome back again" presents) made my staying at the hotel unforgettable! Highly recommend!!!

John and Julie, the Almar owners, were fantastic nothing was too much trouble, they are so friendly and inviting. I had a breakfast every morning and it was fantastic, the food was delicious all prepared by John, and served by the lovely Julie, they couldn't do enough for you. Location is ideal for all aspects of Scarborough, and getting the bus to Whitby was just up the road. All in all I had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend it, I'm looking forward to next year!!👍👍
