Norblad Hotel

The room was very clean and we were provided with robes and earplugs etc. to make our stay more comfortable! The check-in desk was super friendly, and there was a full kitchenette where, if we had wanted to, we could have cooked a simple meal and we kept our leftovers in the fridge. I was worried the shared bathrooms would be like in a hostel where there are just 4 shower stalls with curtains and a shared common area, but they were actually quite nice! Separate shower and toilet stalls each with a full locking door/compartment. Walkable to most major downtown restaurants etc. Had a great stay!

Slightest downside is that it can get a bit noisy, between shared bathrooms, creaky floors, and cracking the windows to keep cool enough in the summer (no AC but nice breeze so you dont really need it) with a touch of street noise. Once I put earplugs in though, it was fine!

Pretty cool place! Super cute, great location and a good value for the price. We just needed a place to crash ahead of The Great Columbia Crossing the next day so it was the best value in the area. They also were kind enough to call after we checked out to let us know we left gloves there.

The room included a kitchenette with an oven and stove, but did not have any pots or pans or serving dishes.

The front desk gals were very helpful and the cleaners were kind and generous with towels and or anything we needed. Loved the kitchen set up. Careful about booking online through hotels.com call you’ll get the most inexpensive rate but you will also get the least favorable room without a view. You won’t have the option of upgrading or changing rooms either. Arriving late and having a fan in the closet was a little bit challenging to sleep the first night not knowing it was there till the next day. It states water is provided when you book but I didn’t see bottled water anywhere.

Shared baths

This is our favorite place to stay in Astoria; a suite with a kitchenette and lots of windows. Good thing the room comes with earplugs: a thrum came from our neighbor each morning about 3 AM---a TV, radio or computer with a constant babble--next time we'll ask for a different suite.

Clean, didn’t have to wait for shared bathrooms. Staff was nice and helpfull. Area was good. Easy walk everywhere.

We loved the Norblad

Really cool space, and the staff is very nice. There is a communal kitchen space with a fridge, and coffee in the morning.

So unique. Great central location and able to walk everywhere. Parking not an issue.
