The only thing I liked was when we checked out and left.

This used to be a great hotel years ago, NOT ANYMORE. The TV's only had 1 channel. The WiFi was horrible, and the bar and restaurant both close at 7. We love going to Cooke City but we will NOT be staying at this property anymore.

The hotel staff was all friendly while we were there. It was a fine place to stay and the common areas were very much like one might imagine a lodge in the remote mountains. Even though we arrived a few minutes after the website says is the final time for check-in (this is not an easy place to get to, nor is the road there one you could make up time on!), someone was available to check us in and the doors were unlocked, so no problems in that regard. The town is very small and safe as far as crime, and is super remote (but only minutes from the Northeast entrance to Yellowstone).

I was unsure of the breakfast options, I don’t believe there was an included breakfast, so we ate at a little coffee shop a few doors down. We asked for a rollaway bed but there was none available. They didn’t offer any alternative but gladly gave us extra blankets instead when requested. During one day of our stay, they were working on the water in the hotel so we left early to avoid the lack of running water. They did let us know at check-in that this was coming up the next day, so it wasn’t a surprise. Still, they didn’t let us know ahead of check-in. We tried to let them know we would be arriving late, but the whole area has super spotty cell reception. Therefore, we were only able to attempt a call or email about 4 times in the 4-5 hours before we arrived. No one ever answered. Oddly, when attempting to ask questions at other times at the front desk, the attendant was often on the phone and unable to engage in conversation. The hotel is no longer locally owned.

Room was not completed with painting left unfinished and lights in ceiling not installed. Most disappointing was the lack of laundry facilities in working order. This was one primary reason to stay at this facility. I texted with my reservation and was confirmed laundry facilities were available. The dryers were both out of service so they ended up closing. Also, the hot tub was another option I was interested in but the jets didn’t work. So, both of the reasons I chose the facility ended up not working.
