Residenza Teatro Antico

This has to be one of the best short stays we’ve had. It’s absolutely stunning and possibly in the best location in town. This doesn’t happen often, but it looks exactly like the photos - if not better. It really does feel like being in the theatre. The room and bathroom were both large and looked as though they’d been done up just yesterday. There’s a decent coffee machine in the room, clean linen, and, if you’re lucky, you might see a couple of lovely cats roaming around. The centre of town is about a 2-minute walk away. What made it extra special, though, was the view. We opened the door to the balcony and were greeted by the sun rising right in front of us, filling the room with morning light. It was the classic Italian view of early sun, churches, and farmhouses shrouded in the morning mist. Unforgettable. Sandro, your host, offers great communication and is very helpful and happy to make recommendations around town.

Our only regret is that we were only able to stay for one night.

Ein Zimmer wie in einem Schauspiel, dort schlafen zu können, hat uns sehr gefreut. Etwas ganz Besonderes! Liebevoll restauriertes, historisches Gebäude direkt neben dem Piazza del Popolo im Zentrum. Das Vermieterehepaar ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Sie haben wunderbare Möbel zusammen getragen. Viel Herz ist eingeflossen. Es gibt am Platz Bars und in den Gassen ein paar Geschäfte mit Kunsthandwerk, Schmuck oder feiner Tischwäsche. Der Platz taucht sogar im Film Cleopatra auf.

Zeer mooie residentie in een historisch gebouw, pal in het centrum van Todi, op een steenworp van het Piazza del Popolo en de informatiedienst. De residentie omvat twee kamers die een adembenemend uitzicht bieden op de vallei. De grootste troef van de residentie is de gastheer zelf, Sandro. Hij heeft er werkelijk alles aan gedaan om ons vierdaags verblijf zo aangenaam mogelijk te maken. Aan het verblijf is een vergunning gekoppeld voor het gebruik van de geel afgebakende parkeerplaatsen. Onze gastheer heeft echter 20 minuten met ons rondgetoerd in de stad om een zeldzame vrije plaats te vinden (op 400 m klimmen van de residentie). Een beter alternatief is gebruik te maken van de gratis parking in het park grenzend aan de Templo di S. Maria della Consolazione. Een gratis busdienst (lijn E) brengt je in enkele minuten van en naar de parking vanaf de Piazza del Popolo (frequentie elke 20 minuten). De residentie biedt geen ontbijt aan, maar in de onmiddellijke omgeving zijn er een aantal bars die dit aanbieden. Het restaurant Komos is een aanrader (zeer vriendelijke bediening en lekkere gerechten). Ristorante Umbria, op 20 m van de residentie, is dit veel minder op basis van dezelfde criteria, ondanks het unieke panoramische uitzicht.

De foto's gepubliceerd op de website van Booking.com dateren van vóór corona en creëren verwachtingen die niet meer met de realiteit overeenkomen. De gastheer heeft ons echter verzekerd het nodige te zullen doen om de foto's te actualiseren.

Perfect spot inside the city just steps form the main piazza. Very clean and comfortable with an amazing view of countryside. Good size for a couple, comfortable beds, and very rustic feel and charm.
