White's City Cavern Inn

We have stayed here numerous times and we keep coming back. Nothing fancy, but clean and neat. Proximity to sights is good.

Property was very convenient to get to Carlsbad caverns, but restaurants and stores about 20 miles away, only restaurant on premises was closed at 3 pm.

This is a property to avoid. The best food option is a store across the street over charging. One gas station, you guessed it, over charging. The room and exterior areas were dirty. Made do; it wasnt like i could get a refund anyway. To cap it off, asked for an extra hour late check out....$10. This little town knows one thing....overcharge!

The room was clean and it was close to the national parks.

The check in was terrible. Arrived early and went to office to ask if early check in was possible. It was closed but had a number I could call. Was told check-in was at 2 but if I came back at 130 she could check us in. Waited till 210 to go back. Woman behind the desk did not acknowledge us till she finished what sounded like a personal call. At no time did she make eye contact. I told her I wanted to check in and her response was ‘check in is at 3. Told her what I had been told earlier. She said it wasn’t her I talked to and repeated check in time. Now during this exchange she never stood up to the counter never made eye contact and was visibly angry slamming papers around and pounding on keyboard. We turned to walk out when she said wait she would go ahead and let us in the room. Shoved the keys across counter. Gave us no information and turned away. This woman was angry insolent and just rude. We find the room which was fine except missing a pillow on a bed. Empty pillowcase is there but no pillow. Called the office and she proceeded to say the beds always had 4 pillows each. We said ‘then we are missing 3 pillows. She said she would get them. A few minutes later she shows up with a damp pillow at the door and said she was wrong. It is 3 pillows to a bed. Now remember the pillow she shoved at me was damp and couldn’t be used. Room was actually clean and comfortable but this woman made the whole experience awful. Would NOT recommend due to this.

N8ce older place

The room was large and very clean. It's an older building so it's not equipped with jacks to charge your electronics. We brought a night light with usb and electrical outlets on it. Heads up their outlets are tied to the wall switch. So to charge our devices we unplugged the light and left the wall switch on when we plugged in out night light. The TV had HDMI. We were able to watch our recorded shows from YouTube TV. I would stay there again. I didn't give it an excellent rating because the hair dryer didn't work

Location is insanely convenient to Carlsbad Caverns National Park. There is nothing around here though - gas station across the street doesn't have a convenience store. So bring anything you need or be prepared to drive back to Carlsbad. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Other guests were very friendly too. Room met or exceeded most expectations. Would stay here again.

Rooms are soundproof in comparison to other hotels/motels. Great central location to Guadalupe Peak and Carlsbad. Bring camp stove to cook on and/or electric skillet to cook with, also come prepared with items to cook in microwave. Nearby cafe closes at 3pm and is also closed Sunday and Monday. Town of Carlsbad is about 20 minutes away and shuts down early.

The property is a good deal for the price. Rooms are clean & quiet. Convenient for Carlsbad Caverns and Guadalupe National Park. Be sure to bring food with you because dining options all close by 3:00 pm and are closed Mon & Tues. The staff at check in was very rude and not helpful at all. The check out staff was aware of who it was and very apologetic. Stay was still worth it.
