Stottsville Inn

Nice quiet place. Reports of the place smelling like smoke are accurate, but I wouldn't say that it affected the stay in any way... just being completely transparent- there is a restaurant on site, which requires cooking on site. Aside from that, there was nothing remotely negative about the stay.

Restaurant was very good, room was comfortable.

The only restrooms for restaurant was up a long flight of stairs. Hotel rooms were on 2nd and 3rd floor. No elevators just stairs.

A well-managed hotel! Lots of great food choices and plenty of beer! You can’t go wrong staying here. 😊

Very cool Inn... Built pre Civil War in 1858. Stayed 2 nights and the staff were great! Nice atmosphere in the restaurant/bar also. I ordered the Grilled burger and it was probably in the top 5 best burger I've had. Our room was very nice and comfortable with a good size shower.

My husband and I had a wonderful overnight stay at the Stottsville Inn! The bar and dining areas were kept up and very clean, as well as our bedroom on the 3rd floor. Our drinks and our food were delicious and the waitstaff and the owners were very friendly and hospitable! Alot of the patrons seemed to know one another, which made the atmosphere very pleasant! Would highly recommend!

An okay place to stay while in the area briefly, but there’s a lot of room for improvement. The room seemed clean but was small. Each time we entered the room, there was a heavy whiff of old cigarette smoke. No glassware at all, no facial tissues. Shower floor is slippery and had no grab rails. The check-in process is odd…a hostess stand to the restaurant. Restaurant doesn’t get great reviews, so we chose to have dinner elsewhere. On the way back, a restaurant customer coming out suggested we not order any sandwiches - the bread kept falling apart. ? Continental breakfast was just that and was fine. Coffee was good. Wouldn’t stay here again, though.

It was not the standard hotel experience. The building was really interesting but more importantly, it was really close to where I needed to be. That being said - I was really surprised to find there was no registration desk nor was there someone on property 24/7. The first night I had to call the owner because some guests next to me were having a very loud party - yelling in the hall, playing music loudly and having a party. I thought perhaps it would settle down after midnight but it was only getting worse. I called around 1 or 1:30am. I was glad to hear the owner arrived shortly and settled those people down. The second night was quiet as could be. There was no ice nor cold water. For those who do not drink hot liquids, there was nothing but luke warm water or orange juice to drink with breakfast. Breakfast was bagels or english muffins and fruit. Would I recommend this place? Yes, with caveats. Do not expect anything but a clean room and a nice bathroom.
