Hotel Mount Castle

Be careful with directions, maps.me send me to other side of the town. From train station go to the right and fallow signs or just take tuk tuk. It's a proper hotel. Clean, big TV with netflix in shared area and smaller TV in the room. If you are light sleeper take a room on the side of the entrance, mine budget room was on opposite side and I could hear water pump all the time. Apart of that inconvenience it was a really good stay especially for 15 usd with breakfast included and filtered water.

Wonderful place, it is located in a very nice place in a quiet location. The hotel is on the hill and has a good view of the surroundings, it is easily accessible by walk (15min) on the train racks (by the way, if you continue on them you will go to some tunnel very nice place) The staff here is amazing, Sri Lankan people are so friendly but I need to say that this place was one of the best. We had fun talking with our guests and see how they prepare the meals. Same with the food, definitely a top3 food eaten in Sri Lanka with real no spicy food. You can have dinner there with a lot of choices We also enjoyed the rooftop, it is amazing during the day but even more during the sunset time, we had a beer watching it with my girlfriend putting some music. I would definitely recommend this place for a visit, Hatton is a quiet town where a bit less tourists go to but worth a visit since the surroundings are nice with tea fields everywhere.

I loved the hotel and the location of it. Mainly the hospitality of Roshani and Umapathi, such a lovely people and so generous. I loved their delicious foods and also their support during my stay. Number one place in my list. Please take care of these two people, thanks a lot for making my stay fantastic one.

Nothing to improve

Best shower pressure and heat we’ve had in Sri Lanka so far, bed was comfy and blanket was provided, coat stand helped us dry our wet coats.

No mosquito nets unfortunately but they did have an insect repellant plugged in so maybe that was the intended replacement.

We loved staying here. Superb location with mountain view and clean bathrooms. The staff was very friendly and nice. Their food also was tasty. We stayed 2 nights at this lovely place 😍. 100% recommend with out any hesitation.
