Gasthof Altes Zollhaus

The location of the hotel was disappointing. The description online mentions near a forest - yes there are some trees nearby but the hotl is on a main road with no front garden. There is a small patio around the back. What was odd was that the meal we had in the restaurant / bar in the evening was beautiful and we couldn't fault it, but the breakfast the following morning was really disappointing and very unappetising. Yu couldn't squeeze the crusty bread rolls - i think they were frozen ones which you bake yourself. The meat was not the best quality by any means. The only juice available was orange. We didn't have breakfast the next morning and the landlady and waitress were not happy and were offended when I said that the breakfast was not up to standard. They tried to make out that it was a typical bavarian breakfast and perhaps it wasn't to our taste. We've stayed in numerous German hotels / guest houses and we've never had a complaint. We were allowed to cout our stay short and so we moved on to the glorious Jodquellenhof - onsite at the Alpamare. i thought the deal we got was very good considering you got a 3 course meal included and entrance into the 'water park' on each day of your stay. The price was 119 euros per adult and the children were free apart from a 9 euro charge for the evening meal. Considering the entry prices into the Alpamare, this was a really good price. Needless to say, at the Jodquellenhof the breakfast was amazing. I'm confused as to how the altes zollhaus got its 3 stars!
