Podere Poggio al sole

The house is absolutely beautiful, with views to die for. We loved the authentic Italian feel, and the kindness of the people who ran it. They went out of their way to help us, and made sure we had a pleasurable stay.

It’s a long walk from town - but that’s not a negative really as you get a proper countryside experience, and if you have a car it is only a short drive. We unfortunately couldn’t hire one so walked in, but the walk itself in the evening wasn’t too bad as it was cooler. Taxis in the area are very expensive though - so a car or moped is needed really.

The property is conveniently located at the foot of Montepulciano. The pool has an incredible view over the Tuscan countryside and you can view the town of Montepulciano in the distance. The host, Manola and her mother, are the sweetest ladies and they were so helpful. We had a wonderfully authentic Italian experience. We arrived late in the afternoon, and Manola prepared complimentary crostini and gorgeous vino Nobile to settle us in. Thank you again Manola, for being such a great host!

The property was quiet and the location was amazing.

The homely and welcoming atmosphere, the peacefulness, the pool with amazing view, the location near Montepulciano and Pienza.

On hot days the air conditioner is needed, and it’s quite a loud air conditioner.

Lovely accommodation with the most accommodating host. Great for relaxing and enjoying a stunning view of the Tuscan hills. About a 35 minute (up hill) walk up to Montepulciano, in which you can find a supermarket and lots of restaurants.

Just a very small thing: there was no iron in the room. I believe there was an option to get your clothing ironed by the assistant, but given that our Italian was not great, we could not really communicate this to the assistant.

WiFi was a bit slow, but didn’t come to the country for speedy internet.

My wife and I had an excellent stay at this beautiful accommodation. The grounds were stunning and the views were just amazing. We were very warmly welcomed by the owner and her delightful mother. I would recommend this place to everyone! Thank you!
