Matlacha Tiny Village- Iguana

We loved the location!

AC didn’t work upon arrival. It was hard contacting someone to check in. Had to walk around the property trying to figure out how to get the AC to work. Things were unplugged and not ready for visitors. We eventually reset the breakers which made the AC turn on but not blow out cold air. Couldn’t sleep after a long drive and had an important event the next day. We paid for two days in advance but had to leave the property a day early because no one was answering me back about the AC not working so I just gave up. I had to pay $400 for another room up the road after paying $380 for this place for a two day stay. In midst of the event I had to attend I get a text from the person who was supposed to be the “in case of emergency” person who I was trying to get ahold of previously saying they can’t help me because they were never notified. But I have screen shots of her signing her name at the end of the text but now she is saying it wasn’t her. I asked her bosses information to handle it but she didn’t give it to me and promised me my money will be back in my account the next day. I’m still waiting on the promised refund and I’m only asking for one day even though I had to wait an hour for them to respond to get the code when we arrived and spent another hour trying to get the AC to work which never ended up working at all. I think that is a reasonable request since we had no where else to go at 2 am so we really didn’t have a choice. I would have recommended this place to anyone if the customer service wasn’t so terrible. The whole time the lady was trying to blame me and say I wasn’t texting the right person even though the initial text response was from her and was signed by her, which I screen shot and sent it right back to show her and told her I guess someone is impersonating you then. I guess they only hire Karen’s there and yes that’s the actual name of the lady I was dealing with.

Parking was small but doable

Location is great.

My husband had an asthma attack as soon as we walked into the room. Had to open all the windows and air it out. Had to turn off the AC as we couldn't control temp. Floors were dirty.

Really nice Tiny house experience instead of chain hotel. Main road is a little noisy but the deck on the canal offsets the road. After Hurricane Ian the property looks brand new. We loved it and plan to go back.

Would have preferred to park closer to unit-- too much loud, fast traffic on the road. Roping prohibited that. Otherwise it was fine. Thank you.

AC took hours to cool off the place. No ice.

It is a quite place near to restaurants.

We knew that the area was still damaged by the hurricane, but the property was spot on and we felt very comfortable.
