Weardale Cottage

Beautiful cottage in a very central location in the North pennines. We loved the comfy beds and superbly equipped kitchen. Wildlife was abundant in the surrounding area, in particular black grouse along the road joining Daddry shield and new biggin. Other wildlife included red grouse, siskin, Merlin, golden plover and plenty of hares.

A quirky cottage in a pretty village. Very clean. Absolutely, everything that you need is all ready there. Comfortable beds. The owners are wonderful, too. Nothing is too much trouble. We had a perfect mini break.

Prachtig huis. Geweldig ingericht. Van alle gemakken voorzien. Heel compleet. Winkel op loopafstand. Mooie wandelingen in de omgrving.

Het loodmijnmuseum was gesloten wegens opknapbeurt. De stoomtrein reed niet volgens schema, maar beperkt.

Great location for our stay. Visited Ullswater, Carlisle, and the surrounding area.

Nothing, our family roots come from St Johns.

One of the few facilities in the area that I wished to visit. It is a very well-appointed self-catering property with a comprehensive book giving full details of the property and its facilities. The area is a quiet one with good choices of walking. Other facilities in the area (shops) are understandably, limited but do provide what one needs. The Blue Bell Inn is a "must" place to visit. I would definitely choose the Weardale Cottage again.

There is nothing that I did not like about Weardale Cottage and if there ever was I would discuss it privately with the host provider.

Spotless in every room, up to date facilities such as dishwasher, very spacious

Mattress was quite hard and we struggled with that a bit but I don’t think its a good enough reason for negative review, just preference
