The Madeline Boutique Hotel & Suites

Rooms are spacious, clean and location is good.

No network signal and no wifi in our room.

The room was a good size and the beds were comfortable. The shower was excellent with a no-slide floor that should be a requirement for all showers everywhere. The young men and women who worked on the staff were very nice and helpful. The best advantage of the location was its proximity to the temporary site of the Davao City Museum, where we learned a lot about the unique history of the city.

The rest of the bathroom was very small with one of those silly pedestal sinks on which you can't put much of anything. A towel bar would be a nice addition so that towels can dry from one day to the next. The "automatically generated" messages that we received prior to checking in bordered on incomprehensible, making the hotel sound like a tinderbox that would go up in flames if anyone used an electrical outlet. It was bizarre. Happily, the reality was not that bad and we were able to boil water for coffee, recharge phones, laptops, etc. The area around the hotel wasn't particularly pleasant and the sidewalks were in terrible condition.
