Mabell Guest House

Mabel is by far THE BEST EVER!! We had the worst time with Grimaldi Lines being late 5 hours and arriving at port at 2am.. In the middle of nowhere.. No taxis to be found or Uber.. I called Mabel at around 3am which she responded and provided a solution for me, my wife and my daughter.. She is without a doubt the best host EVER!! 1000000% recommended!!

It was scenic with all the flowers and flowering trees. Very huge patio that seated everyone if everyone were to be there at one time. Our host, Mabell, was very friendly and helpful.

Mabell is so very helpful. She arranged pick up from FCO for us. She brought me to a few store before taking me to the cruise ship as I had forgotten a couple of things. We purchased dinner from her and it was absolutely amazing. Her dog Pupa is just so adorable. She's a happy little greeter. Rooms were perfect clean and comfortable. Wifi worked great. Air conditioning worked great. We felt safe. I think I could ask for anything and Mabell would try to accommodate.

The location was perfect for catching our cruise ship the next day. I read a number of reviews that gave it a great rating which gave me confidence that this was the right choice. It’s out in the countryside, so there is not traffic noise. The room was impeccably clean yet simple. Our host, Mabell was SO NICE!! She is the kindest person. She took us to the ATM to get euros, to the drugstore to buy sunblock, and to a FABULOUS Italian restaurant that is extremely popular and reasonably priced. She also had one of her drivers pick us up at FCO (the airport in Rome) and bring us to the property (for a fee). Breakfast was a delicious pound cake and great coffee. She also arranged for a driver to take us to the cruise ship the next day. Highly recommend.

We needed a place to shower and sleep between an international flight and catching a ferry at the port. The room suited our simple needs. The owner was very accommodating with great communication before and during our short stay. She even provided water for us to take on the ferry.

I hesitated how realistic the rating of the accommodation was since it was so high but it's well deserved. Spotless clean, absolutely quiet and silent at night, very sweet and extremely flexible staff (I needed to do a late check in and late check out which they accommodated without any question since it was low season and they had availability). The place has a large garden with private parking which was a nice + The place looked fresher in life than on photos. Very strong internet connection which is super important for nomads like me. I could easily do all my business meetings with video on. And the puppy.. the cutest and friendliest puppy which made me feel like at home. Overall, great experience!

I actually liked this since I had a car but it might be a concern for someone without one - the accommodation is a bit far from "life". I did see some other travellers mention that hosts can help organise pick up and drop off but still it means less autonomy to move around and explore the city.
