Domus Venere

The location was great: it's a short walk into Central Pompeii. There's a good supermarket within 100 metres. There was lots of space, and the roof was lovely.

The electricity was a problem. They've installed a meter that cuts off at a very low level of electricity usage. There are three air-con/heaters in the place - one in the living room and one in each bedroom. you can only use one at a time, or the electricity all cuts off. You can't use a heater/air-con and the washing machine: it's one or the other. If you use both, you lose your electricity. So you can have clean clothes, or you can have one room at a comfortable temperature. In spring or autumn, this might be OK. But it means that in summer you'll be too hot and in winter you'll be too cold and there is nothing you can do about it. It makes the place basically unusable in summer and winter. Also, the bed in the master bedroom is falling apart.

The location is excellent. The hosts are very kind. The place is clean. Walking distance to Pompeii. near the train station.

There was a problem with the electricity. Multiple devices cannot be turned on at the same time. It was a cool day. And we turned on the air conditioner. But then we couldn't cook in the oven in addition, the beds are really uncomfortable and they all have a socket in the middle of the mattress. There is significant noise from the train passing so close. The internet was unstable and a significant part of the time did not work. (The host claims it's because of the weather)
