The Wind Castle

Huge room in a castle on top of a mountain overlooking the Nuwara Eliya valley. Friendly staff, tasty food, great views.

Quite the distance to any of the things we wanted to see in the area and we were the only guests in the hotel, which felt kind of lonely. Several dishes from the were unavailable because of this.

The view is simply breathtaking, it’s an amazing experience having breakfast/ coffee outside in the morning!

The room was quite cold and there was no heating, we asked for a heater but they didn’t have any available. The shower alternated water temperature, so at some point it might be too hot, then regular or regular, then too cold. Also, the towels were stained.

It was a calming experience and very relaxing. Definitely try the mountain view suite if you can it's worth it. Also the staff is very friendly.

Location, view and garden

We was so excited to reach to this hotel and we left total disappointed. Hotel has not any isolation and is so noisy listening people talking, walking etc. when they cooking in the kitchen all the smell is coming to the room. The size bed is so small for two adults. And last we had the terrible experience eating dinner there and be nauseous and vomiting all night. The food was just terrible. We return one of the plates back, the fired chicken with fries couldn’t be chewed and fries was just frozen bad quality potatoes when all area is full of fresh vegetables. All the time of cooking we was hearing the microwave working non stop. Might be frozen food they unfrozen and cook it. DONT eat in this restaurant
