Jipek Joli Inn

The Jipek Joli Inn is a bit touristy, with a yurt set up in the courtyard and a small display of local handicrafts for sale, but this is helpful when you are in a fairly remote part of a large country and are in need of local information about roads and other logistical questions. The hotel staff themselves were not particularly knowledgeable about the roads, but they work with a lot of people who are, and they can probably put you in touch with someone who will be able to answer your questions. There is off-street parking for several vehicles around the corner or street parking in front of the hotel. The Savitsky Museum and the rather smaller Karakalpakstan Ethnographic museum are nearby, as well as several good restaurants. People coming back from an Aral Sea tour may appreciate having a full bathtub to soak in.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The manager was very mindful that we got our pre-booked tour around the region just right.

Very clean, large room, good breakfast that can be eaten at their patio and very nice staff. Location is great as it is 2 minutes walking distance to the museum and 20 minutes to the Bazar. Recommended.
