Devonport House - Constantia

Das Guesthouse liegt in einer ruhigen Straße in Constantia und grenzt direkt an das Weingut Groot Constantia. Durch ein kleines Tor kann man direkt in die Weinberge gelangen. Es gibt einen Pool mit Liegen, die Möglichkeit morgens draußen zu frühstücken. Das Frühstück war sehr sehr lecker. Wir wurden sehr herzlich von den beiden Inhabern Jacques und Jenn begrüßt. Die beiden haben uns viele Tipps gegeben und waren immer für uns da, wenn wir noch eine Frage hatten oder auch nur kurz quatschen wollten. Unser Zimmer war hell, geräumig, das Bad ebenso (mit Aussicht auf die Weinberge) Wir kommen auf jeden Fall zum, WeinTasting wieder)

Constantia ist toll für Weintouren zu den verschiedenen Weingütern aber um Kapstadt zu erkunden zu weit entfernt (einfache Fahrt zur Waterfront ca 30 Minuten - ohne Stau).

Beautifully set, very well maintained and lovely staff. Nothing was too much trouble and we felt very welcome.

Constantia is a lovely area in itself and it is a 30 minute journey into Cape Town. We had a car and travelling was not a problem. The hotel has a lovely driver on hand if you don’t have a car

We had a lovely stay at the Devonport House! The hosts were lovely and took care of our requests. We arrived early and were able to leave our luggage while our room was being prepared, and when we came back late at night everything had been brought to our room. The room was very clean and had everything we needed. Breakfast the next morning was also very nice. We loved the views from our room. Definitely would stay here again!

Lovely hotel, we were the only guests so felt very quiet, almost too quiet considering the owners lived on site. Our room was really spacious, the best one in the house, great views. The owners were friendly, all the staff were very pleasant. The ladies serving us breakfast every morning were great (I waited too long to write this review so have forgotten their names, sorry!) and it was a very nice breakfast. They also provided cake and tea/coffee in the afternoon after we got back from hiking. The resident Peacock Louie was a great source of entertainment, showing up on the roof in the morning peeking in the bathroom window! Great hiking right up the road, you can walk through to Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden. Also great hiking 20 minutes drive away at Silvermyn trails. We enjoyed our stay.

Cellular service was non-existent in the area, and wifi was more challenging than other towns we stayed in. Could not safely walk anywhere other than to the nearby winery.

Traumhafte Unterkunft mit einem fantastischen Blick auf die Berge von Stellenbosch. Es fehlte hier an nichts. Besser geht nicht! Die Eigentümer sind sehr herzlich. Wir durften etwas früher einchecken & Jaques hat uns gute Tips gegeben. Das Frühstück ist hervorragend und Nachmittags wird man mit leckerem Kuchen verwöhnt. Rundum Top...

Es gibt rein gar nichts zu bemängeln...

Beautiful place to stay. Wonderful facilities. Enjoyed the use of the sitting room as well as the free sherry and delicious cake. Loved the personal touches. Lovely friendly owners! Attention to small details. Very efficient and kind staff. Would definitely stay at Devonport House again!

Maybe underfloor heating or heated towel rails in the bathroom.

かわいい2匹の老犬が出迎えてくれました。部屋はとても清潔で、広さも十分にあり快適に過ごせました。朝食はとても美味しく、スタッフの皆さんもフレンドリーで温かく迎えてくれました。オーナーのアドバイスのおかげで、チャップマンピークから最高の夕日を眺めることができました。素晴らしい滞在をありがとうございました。 We were warmly welcomed by two adorable senior dogs. The room was very clean and spacious, making our stay comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, and everyone was friendly and welcoming. Thanks to the owner's advice, we were able to enjoy a breathtaking sunset from Chapman’s Peak. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Absolutely beautiful property. Super comfortable room with great bed and shower. Lovely decor throughout the place with a very tasteful mix of modern and original fittings. Some really thoughtful luxuries: they leave out a scrumptious cake and have a bar with open access to all manner of imbibing options for the evening. Just scribble down what you took. They provide a pick up and drop off service ( Thanks Pinto) to and from dinner ( and presumably other excursions into town) so that you don’t need to drive tipsy. They have a gate that allows you to walk directly to the adjacent Groot winery! Lovely breakfast with eggs, avocado, berries, crossants, etc. Our hosts were wonderful and had tons of helpful tips for our trip. Would definitely stay here again.
