Lovely staff. Booked a double but ended up with a larger room. Very homely. Lovely continental breakfast. And excellent location for a trip to Cleethorpes. Only negative - Very firm bed, bit achy today from it.

Very disappointed in this hotel as a lot of the amenities quoted in the hotels.com entry simply did not exist or were very rudimentary. It does not have a restaurant, the only food available are panini’s etc. I saw no coffee/tea available in the common areas (as quoted), except in our room. I saw no snack bar/deli. I also saw no availability of a “cooked to order breakfast” available that was mention in the “in Hotel Services”. The car parking only allows for about seven vehicles, less when some of the spaces are used to dump builders rubbish. This was due to the hotel being refurbished which can be forgiven. The restricted parking results in vehicles being parked blocking in others. It was not “quiet” as noted in some reviews, there was a hen party going on our first night with shouting and door banging going on. One fire door was right outside our room and the auto-close mechanism made it bang every time it was opened, once at 4am! The room information stated that breakfast was 7:30am till 10am in the “buffet room”. This was locked till 8:30am on our last morning until 8:30am and only opened then when I rang the hotel door access help line phone number. There was no apology for this. I cannot understand why so many reviews are 10/10.

It was a good place to use as a base for travelling around the area in a car. Continental breakfasts were good in a restricted area, parking was good if you got in early, Evening meals were "bar snacks". Room & en suite were decent sizes. Limited house-keeping. Lots of steps inside. Friendly staff.

The hotel is atop a funky little bar and is in a great location to access the local high street and the seafront promenade. It is a little bit worn around the edges in the interior, but otherwise kept clean and presentable. Our room was comfortable with a spacious bathroom, though there were slight issues with the sash window in the bedroom being broken and only able to be put on a vent with a sliding lock. That, and the wardrobe door handle needed fixing as it came off in my hand. Otherwise the room was greatly acceptable for a comfortable nights sleep, which we had throughout our stay. Even though the hotel is over a bar, we didn't really have any issues with noise in the evenings, which was nice, even when they had an event going on the first night we were there. All in all, a highly recommendable place to stay, though if you intend to stay with heavy luggage, be aware there are a lot of stairs to navigate.

I was just visiting for the day and it was just what I needed. Good location, clean and good value. I would say my only issue was that I had the room by the front door, so heard people arriving / leaving but it wasn’t too bad. Would consider staying again.
