Finlen Hotel and Motor Inn

Run down and not very clean. Old but with out the style of the era.

Great location in Butte and a great historic and clean property with friendly staff 😊

Wonderfully renovated 100 year old hotel. Rooms in these hotels are not the biggest, but are perfectly adequate. Good restaurant close by, Sparky's Gasplug. Comfortable bed, happy to have working elevator! Would stay here again, definitely.

The hotel was old, the room was ugly with mismatched furniture. The hotel is only 3 floors, the upper are apartments. For an historic hotel, the only charm was the lobby. We left and did not stay there.

We were pleasantly surprised that the room in the hotel had a portable air conditioner even though Booking.com indicated only the motor inn rooms had air conditioning. Since the high temperature was 85 degrees that day it definitely helped cool the room down quickly for a good night sleep.

The room had a king bed and unfortunately only one side of the bed had an end table. It would have been helpful if both sides of the bed had an end table. It appears a small end table would have fit on the right side of the bed.

Loved the historic building! Inside and out. Had a bar but was too dark for my taste. No breakfast offered. AC was portable with exhaust through the window, very noisy. Shower and bed excellent. I’d stay again.

Parking…seemed run down, thought we were getting a hotel room, not a cheap (super expensive) out-dated motel room. People smoking outside door, front desk clerk was NOT friendly. Paid for a quality hotel room but got a motel 6 accommodation. Noisy fan in bathroom, ac was super loud, loud road noise from back windows, etc. etc. etc.

This hotel was excellent! It is a lovely historic hotel in the center of uptown Butte close to all the sights with free parking, comfortable beds, and large rooms. It’s a bit quirky due to being over 100 years old but that’s the charm and the beauty and I’m so glad they have preserved it! The staff were kind too. Would strongly recommend!

As an older building, there are some features that are not optimal like no central A/C but it wasn’t an issue because they had great A/C units and being Montana a mile in the sky, we didn’t need it much.
